Edge of Darkness IC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Seeing Rax's jubilant personality and excited look brought a look of concern to Geoff's face. Please, don't let this be too half baked and insane that the Captain will want to do it...

Stowing the thought, Geoff looks at Rax, then at Doc Cohlen. "Doc Cohlen, this is Rax Zetrac, also known as Hotdog and the craziest driver/pilot I have met. Rax, this is Doc Cohlen, Chief Medical Officer for the Cell."

Once they exchanged greetings, Geoff looks at Rax. "What's the plan, Hotdog?"

Cohlen snorts, laughing out loud and causing more than few heads to turn your way. "Hotdog? How'd you pick that up?"

Cracking the biggest smile on his face, Geoff points right at Rax. "He gotten it after we started getting shot by the stormies. And that's because this fracker said, and I quote, 'This is going to be a blue milk run', unquote. In my time with the RRM, every time someone said blue milk run, I immediately check my medpack. Because no sooner does someone say that, the universe decides to make it go sour."

Chuckling at the fact, Geoff shook his head, mostly due to the realization that was less than a few hours ago. "Then, he decides to hotdog with the shooting. How many stormies did you take out, by the way? Between initial contact, the run in with the second group, and that insane driving, I believe he took out a half dozen himself. And that's before we get to him driving that floating brick, and then him hotdogging in that machine."

Rax just shrugs. "People call me lots of things. Mostly, 'What the kriff just passed us?!' I guess Hotdog is shorter, though. I kinda lost track of the stormies, I just kept shootin them until they got out of the way. Anyways, Chief says there might be a few places we could do a hit-and-run for some supplies on speederbike, thought that might make for a good op. Help recover lost ground and all that. Whaddya ya guys think?"

Toco sits down at the table with a silly smile on his face. He only hears the last few sentences that Rax said.

"Op? We have orders to do something?"

"Not yet, just spitballing. Thinking about a hit-and-fade on speederbike, grab whatever supplies we need."

Thinking a bit about the areas the RRM operated in and the possible comparisons here, Geoff goes deep in thought for a second. Hit and fade missions would work, but they are also opportunistic. They also have to deal within one to three hours.

Looking at Rax, Geoff pauses a moment. "Hit and fade missions sound good, but we have to be wary of what we are striking. It won't do us any good if we wind up hitting a supply convoy meant for the refugees."

Leaning towards Rax, Geoff looks at the pilot. "The other problem I am having is that you would need support, either in getting to the target or hauling the items. That means using Tookur's truck. Is there a way to either modify the vehicle or make it a bit better as a mobile command center?"

Rax shakes his head. "You'll have to ask the main man Chandra-fan for that. I don't build 'em, I just fly 'em."

"Have we been detached for independent operations? I mean we are a strike team. They give us targets, we take them out."

The smile is slipping off Toco's face and is being replaced with a confused look.

Cohlen grimaces. "I doubt you'll be on detached duty. Zavvel doesn't trust you, that much is obvious, so he'll likely keep you on a short leash for a while. That being said it's a good plan; I'll see if I can get it passed up the chain. You are a strike team though, so at least you'll be together for whatever missions you have thrown at you."

In the workshop, CeeTee is just rolling through when he is accosted by a familiar Chadra-Fan. "Droid-friend. You help me, I help you. Truck systems computed all busted up after drive-chase. Need help. In return, I have present for you," he holds up a pair of booster rockets for an astromech, grinning madly.

"Well, we wait and see." Toco looks over at the line for food.

"By the way, there is apparently a bonus for us with the Quartermaster. They seem really well stocked."

He gets up and makes his way over to the line.

"Whhoooowwaa!"

Looking at Tookur, I immediately start towards the truck.

"What systems are broken?" (I imagine (though if I'm wrong please point out to me) he has a bit of an understanding of droid speak so I'll speak normally)

Lifting his arms and stretch, Geoff looks up at the ceiling. Man, that reminds me, I need to replace the three stimpacks. Plus find out what is needed to get a few medical droids to assist Doc Cohlen. And set up Tookur's truck with better medical gear.

Looking over at Doc Cohlen, Geoff tilts his head towards the medbay. "I don't know about the rest of the team, but I'm getting tired. Being up all night and helping out with the wounded will do that. Do you mind if I do one last check on the patients and gather my gear? Also, would Quartermaster Sumal have medical supplies or would I have to go through the medbay?"

Not a bad group of people. Hopefully we can get Captain Zavvel to realize that.

"Somal's generally only got weapons and gear; medical supplies go directly to the medbay. That being said, we've got a premium on kit right now so I'd have to take any new kit out of your gear allowance. You can check on the patients any time you want - it's a relief to finally have a proper doctor on staff," she smiles, her exhaustion fading for a moment. "Get some rest. We all should. It's been a tough night. I imagine Zavvel will want us up soon for some errand, so sleep while you can."

Meanwhile, in the workshop, Tookur directs CeeTee to an interface with the truck. Plugging himself in, CeeTee begins to work on sorting out the various software that keeps the repulsorlift and onboard computer functioning, while Tookur installs the rocket jets and performs some repairs.

Like the others, CeeTee heals his wounds from the fighting

Sifting through the computer systems I immediately fix anything that is wrong with the systems. I also keep note of all the technicals of the truck in my personal banks for future reference in case we are in a situation where i need to locate a certain system quick. and i also keep note of all things that could be 'upped' if we are ever in a situation like last night again

"The fact that it is not a standard here is disturbing. While I'm not expecting Captain Zavvel to stick around for the surgery, the fact I didn't see Weyrun back is not a good precedent." Nodding at Doc Cohlen, Geoff takes his tray, empties it at the nearest bin, and drops it off at the receptacle for the dishes. "That being said, I believe that it would be good to set up training for the personnel in the use of first aid. In addition to making sure that there is a standardized location for the Emergency med kits and stim packs that all personnel should be carrying. Also, do we have an inventory of what gear we have? I need to replace three stim packs."

Once back in the medbay, Geoff checks on all of the patients, asking questions to those awake and answering inquiries from his charges and anyone visiting them. Once done, Geoff looks for a requisition form or an inventory sheet, double checking what supplies Doc Cohlen and the medstaff have on hand. We really need to get a droid or three here. That way we won't be so understaffed and unprepared.

After checking the supplies, Geoff cleans and stores the CAPC and standard medpack, logging any additional replacement supplies to accompany the three replacement stimpacks. Toco did good having his own stimpack, but I should also make sure the rest of the team have their own supplies.

Submitting the requisition form and stowing the gear, Geoff heads to the room his team is sharing. Dropping off his gear, Geoff grabs his towel, clean clothes, and heads back to the showers to get hygiene done before heading to bed. Oh, thank you engineers for having clean, hot water and running electricity.

[Going to refill the supplies for the medpacks and requisition three stimpacks (25 credits each, 75 credits altogether). In addition, Geoff is going to check on the inventory for supplies and see what is needed for a future op.]

Oro heads to the supply room. "Got any grenades lying around? I could use a couple stun, and couple frag."

"Oh sure," Somal grins. "Just down here," she reaches under her desk to one of the crates supporting it and pulls out the required sets of grenades, handing them across the desk. "I'll just take your supply allowance and you can have these. Throw responsibly!"

Elsewhere, Geoff is able to withdraw the stimpacks from the medical supply cabinet. Going to check the medical supplies inventory he sees that the cell is critically lacking in stocks of painkillers and bacta, but otherwise everything is at roughly acceptable levels. This done, he retires to bed and sleeps the sleep of the damned until after noon, when he is woken by a corporal who tells him "Your team's got a briefing in the control centre, fifteen minutes."

Toco woke in the barrack and made his way to the mess for breakfast.

He spent the rest of the morning fitting his weapon mods to his rifle and shaking them out on the range.

When he has the resources, he will look into activating some of the enhancements on the mods.

He hits the fresher and makes his way to the briefing. He is noticing that the facility was set up to house more people than currently populate it.

"Seemed so full when we got here."

Rubbing sleep from his eyes, Geoff quickly gets into clean clothes, which are merely a another set of his previous outfit. ****, need to get laundry in soon. I don't want to be stinking up the place.

Getting his boots on, Geoff gets his gear on as well, putting the backpack on and tightening the strap. That reminds me, I need to get information and send up a report to Alliance Medical Corps Command and the RRM. They'll want to hear about the initial problems here.

Immediately making his way to the control center, Geoff looks around at the assembled personnel. "Morning, Captain. Morning everyone." Geoff says as he looks for some food and caf. Being woken up and not given a whole lot of time to prep is a bad idea.

Oro pulls on the nearest clothes he can find, straps on his gear, and heads to the meeting room.

The command centre is fairly empty, the afternoon shift is manning various comm terminals or tracking reports from various scouts, but in comparison to some Rebel command centres you've been in this one is almost empty. Zavvel is gazing intently at a chart table, with a couple of his NCOs stood around the room supervising various crew members. He's obviously waiting for the rest of your team to show up

Toco nods to Geoff.

"Does he ever look tired. Must have been a rough night in the med bay."

When Oro walks in, Toco thinks "That is one tough Gundark."

Rax suppresses a groan as he gets up and puts on some clothes. "I really hate mornings. Or any other part of the day that's the part you have to wake up for." he grumbles to himself as he heads to the command center and takes a seat.

Issan finally emerged from a wherever he was hiding previously, entering the command centre with bloodshot eyes staring at a datapd. His bluish skin taking on a slight violet tone showing that the Twi'lek had slept little.

Without saying anything, and barely looking around, he fell in line with the rest of the group.
