Edge of Darkness IC

Ok cool. All aboard, as they say

Rax gets the truck on the road, getting speed up as high as he can while still being able to make turns, and serving out of the way of any traffic. "Ok Tooks, I need you or CeeTee to tell me if we're being tailed by Imps so I don't lead them right back to the base."

Tookur peers out of the window, then darts his head back in in a hurry.

"They're tailing us. Well not tailing us. Chasing us really. What's the plan boss?"

There are two groups of three speeder bikes behind you. They're just accelerating up to reach you, and are currently at long range (planetary scale). One group (group A) has light repeating blasters while the on the other (group B) you recognise modified heavy laser cannons.

Can we roll initiative? It's a Cool check

initiative roll- Cool: 1eA 0 successes, 1 advantage

Cool check: 2eP 3 successes

Cool Check: 1eA+1eP 0 successes, 4 advantage

Iniative: 1eA 2 successes

Initiative-Cool: 3eA 2 successes, 2 advantage

Getting on board, Geoff waits for the system to boot up. Blasted datapad is taking longer than usual. Should have done a better check back at base.

Seeing the pursuit speeder, Geoff cringes inside. Well, this is going to be fun.

Cool Test (Did towo Profieciency dice instead of 1): 2eA+1eP 3 successes, 1 advantage

[Also, I really need to make sure I'm awake when I roll dice. I fat fingered two Proficiency Dice and one Ability Dice when it should have been the opposite.]

Alright, initiative is as follows:

The truck is a modified A-A5 with Speed 3 rather than Speed 1. It has two armoured hatches on the rear facing, three on each side and one on top, with corresponding fire arcs, which can be opened for firing out of. In the first instance can we have an Easy Piloting check from Rax to see how you manage to navigate the truck through the streets?

"Hang on, guys! It's gonna get a little fun!" Rax laughs as he weaves through the streets.

The truck careens through the thus far empty streets. Still in the old town, there is little around to trouble you.

How are you spending the advantage/triumph?

As it slams through the streets, Rax spots a side street leading down into a covered market. "Shortcut!" The speeders try to turn to match it, but only the first set armed with lighter cannons makes the turn. The other group races on, looking for a way around. The truck bounces down over tiered steps, crashing past shuttered market stalls and bouncing around the crew.

Only one lot of bikes to deal with this turn.

Toco lines up his shot, takes a deep breath, and sprays blaster bolts at the pursuing speeder bikes.

Toco is using 1 maneuver to aim and spending 2 strain to aim a 2nd time. Then fires his Blaster Rifle at long range.

Blaster Rifle shot at long range with 2 aims.: 2eA+2eP+2eB+3eD 2 successes, 1 threat

That works out to 11 Damage.

Edit: I stand corrected

Edited by ColonelCommissar

At this range, it is just the vehicle. When they get closer (gulp!) I may go for riders.

Edit: I was wrong, but have been corrected. Turns out speeder bikes have no armour!

Your shot strikes the front fairing of the bike, damaging the lead speeder.

Oro takes out one of the frag grenades he grabbed off the fallen Stormtroopers, sticks his head out the window to judge the distance and speed of the speeders chasing them, adjusts the detonator timer to go off just as they reach the truck's current location, and drops it out the window.

So I think I explained what I want to try - Set the timer on the frag grenade so it goes off when the guys chasing us drive over it. ;) I'm thinking it'd be a short range attack since I'm basically just dropping it out the window and they'll be that close to it when it goes off, but I'll wait for the GM to rule on the difficulty and any adjustments before rolling. :)

I'd rule that to be a short-range attack since you're just dropping it, but with three setbacks since you're having to time that quite precisely (you are going at speed 3, which is pretty fast, so you'd have to be precise)

Grenade drop: 2eA+1eP+1eD+3eS 0 successes

The blast detonates harmlessly in the street, achieving little to damage the troopers or their bikes.

Looking over to Rax, I whistle and Whirr as if trying to ask if there is anything I can do. Between ourselves we both agree that an engine boost could probably help here

Rax, I hope you dont mind me doing that? I feel like thats what our "talk" would eventually come to. if it isnt, then we can "talk" things out :P

"I'm already flooring this souped up brick as hard as I can, little guy!" Rax shouts over the blaster fire and explosions. "See if you can get one of those speeders off our tail somehow!"

Someone do something. It's been over 36 hours since the last post. :P

I agree. CT, Issan or Geoff - one of you needs to take an action or say you're skipping or else I'll skip the next PC slot and go on to the NPCs
