Bb8 ptl Connor net

By Bloodstripe Baron, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I wanted to make sure I was reading this right.

Poe has ptl and bb8. Someone Connor nets him before he activates. He takes two ion tokens, a damage, and as the card states "skips his next perform action" step.

Now. He's already set a dial when he was netted and with the ruling the ion takes effect the next turn. So he reveals his grean straight which triggers bb8. That free action triggers ptl for his action. The green move removes the stress. (We know all this)

And then he doesn't get his action step. (This is what I'm checking)

So a Connor netted Poe could still conceivably shrug a Connor net off action wise, take the damage and still use boost to set up where the ion movement will place him or take defensive focus tokens on all the turns.

Conner Net wouldn't stop you from using BB-8 the turn you hit it. It also wouldn't stop you from using that barrel roll to trigger PTL. It would stop you from getting your normal action that turn though. The following round Poe wouldn't place a dial so BB-8 would be unable to trigger.

In normal rounds, when he does a green maneuver, Poe with PTL and BB-8 gets a total of 3 actions (one of which much be barrel-roll). If he hits a Conner Net he only gets two (one of which must be a barrel-roll).

Yep - bang on

This got me thinking of Advanced Sensors. Hit a AS ship with CN befor it activates and it goes, ok I'll just do my action befor moving and then I'll skip my perform action step like realy hard :D

If you're hit with a Conner Net before your activation, you're ionized and can't use Advanced Sensors. If you're hit after your activation, you don't skip your Perform Action step anyway.

Didn't we just get an email ruling saying you reveal your dial and maneuver like normal if you allready had a dial assigned when the ion hits? So the ion move will come next turn instead.

Correct. Ion is next round if you've already set a dial.

Don't like it but that's the ruling.

Now advanced sensor wouldn't work because it just changes the order of the perform action step.

Unfortunately for Conner Net's usability, that's not true. Advanced Sensors is "Immediately before you reveal your maneuver, you may perform 1 free action. If you use this ability, you must skip your "Perform Action" step during this round."

Or, in other words- perform an action before you move, then skip your Perform Action step exactly as the Conner Net requires you to do!

Time to read the card again. I should do that before I post more often.
