For imperials/first order: special forces tie as a small turret. First order shuttle (kylo rens shuttle) as a large probably non turret ship. Maybe the new troop landers though I think that's unlikley.

For rebels/resistance: maybe the new falcon, probably another rebel fighter. I doubt the movie will only have t70s and I recall a bunch of leaked concept art for other rebel fighters ages ago.

For scum: well the current pattern has been bounty hunter ships and ships from Star Wars galaxies so they could continue with that, but they are out of famous bounty hunter ships except maybe the slave-II. I think a good (and canon!) direction scum could take is ships from the clone wars. No I don't mean arc-170s or v-wings or anything. I think th chances of seeing those ships in x-wing are slim to none and really wouldn't feel appropriate in scum.

But the clone wars series does have a lot of cool unique and thematic ships used by criminals bounty hunters and hutts that could be used without people getting all upset about 'prequels stuff.

Are you sure? Because if that was the case, I would think they would all have wookieepedia pages. And I can't find anything for the likes of "Whisper", "Echo", "Deathrain", etc.

I don't know Whisper and Echo, but I'm pretty sure Deathrain is a canon character (can't find the real name now). Not all pilots have their own wookiepedia page - and just a few have the page with the callsign.

If you are willing to research, you can find almost all canonical imperial pilots here.

I'm okay with all of this.

I expect the expansions,besides Wave 8, will include the T-70 and TIE/FO plus the Black & Orange X-wing, SpForces TIE, Kylo Ren's Shuttle and perhaps another unspoiled ship from TFA. Then they will definitely release at least 2 ships from the second season of Rebels. Of course we'll see 2 Aces packs and an epic scum ship well before we are "counting down the days" in double-digits for Episode 8.... and they will have more ships for that too.

But what I want is a Wookiee ship.

I was thinking the same.... but when I saw the Lego version: the wings fold/collapse to shorten the span and they fold to straight up position. I realized that the wings probably work similar to the movies and FFG could make a decent representation of that. Plus on a new peg stand like the Ghost it shouldn'tbe wobbly. I'm thinking Large base again.

Imp - TIE/fo, with new named pilots from the movies
Imp - Kylo Ren Command Shuttle with Ren, Hux and Phasma as pilots/crew
Scum - The Falcon with cards for both scum^{(pirates including Tasu Leech)} and Reb (Finn, Rey and a new Han Solo)

My speculation/hope for Wave 9:

Scum:

Skipray Blastboat- heavy bomber counterpart for scum- big ship on a small base. Cannon, Turret, Torpedo, Missile, Ilicit upgrade. Mara Jade, Kenix Kil, 2 generic pilots. 4 Hull 4 Shields.

H-6 Bomber- Slow but durable bomber. 5 Hull 2 shields. Nym + 3 others. Bomb, bomb, ilicit. Havoc title. Bomblet generator bomb upgrade- expensive, but does not discard to use.

Imperial/FO

Special forces TIE- Tie with Turret and Crew slot.

Rebels/Resistance

New fighter. TFA has to have more than one starfighter for the rebels afterall.

I'd really like to see wave 9 bring some much wanted classics to the table, before we are in amongst tfa stuff proper -

Skipray blastboat and yt2000 for scum

Gunboat for empire (ready for a break from ties)

Arc 170 for rebels.

I'd say yt2000 is most likely.

After that, star jewel and wild karde for epic scum, including a scyk boost.

Then I think we'll be tfa stuff for the foreseeable future.
