All that shows is that FFG wasn't authorized to release those names to us yet. They may have them and are keeping them back until Episode VII.

Since the Episode VII will take a while to be released (and it looks like FFG doesn't have access to unreleased info), I think the wave 9 won't be focused on it. Here are my guesses:

Your ship choices are fine, but did you see the new starter with Ep VII ships in it? FFG doesn't get information on Tuesday and put out a set on Friday - I believe there was an interview with a designer where he said they work two to three sets in advance, so if there are going to be more Ep VII ships (and I fully expect there to be more) then FFG is probably already working on them in the design and testing phase. I don't think that every set from here on will be Ep VII, but we will probably see more sooner rather then later. I, for one, can't wait to get a T-70 booster (or two).

Actually, the fact we don't have no real named pilots other than Poe Dameron shows FFG didn't have inside information.

I expect the expansions,besides Wave 8, will include the T-70 and TIE/FO plus the Black & Orange X-wing, SpForces TIE, Kylo Ren's Shuttle and perhaps another unspoiled ship from TFA. Then they will definitely release at least 2 ships from the second season of Rebels. Of course we'll see 2 Aces packs and an epic scum ship well before we are "counting down the days" in double-digits for Episode 8.... and they will have more ships for that too.

But what I want is a Wookiee ship.

There's a lot of data that strongly indicates what wave 9 will look like:

• With the exception of Wave 5, FFG appear to be committed to 4 ship waves (or at least, 4 box waves).
• Wave 6 showed us that when they introduce new factions, they're willing to devote an entire wave to them to get the up to speed.
• Wave 1 showed us that they will release separate blisters for core set ships almost immediately.
• The "missing" X Wing product numbers are numerically immediately after the already released new core set.

So, put that all together and what do you get? A 4 ship wave dedicated to getting the Resistance and First Order factions up to pace with the others, with the T-70 and TIE/fo blisters at a minimum. It's not as urgent, given that they are flying with the Rebels and Imps, but they'll want new tech upgrades and the like.

So, Wave 9 will almost certainly be:

• TIE/fo blister pack
• T-70 X Wing blister pack
• An unknown Resistance ship

I'm quite certain they're done with Legends stuff and that they won't break into land-based craft or creatures (that should be a different game).

Sadly, you may very well be right, if Disney are willing to collaborate with FFG at all about upcoming movies, and the new trilogy and anthology films generate enough new ship designs to keep them busy. Until recently, I thought they wouldn't, but it strikes me that the opportunity to create new toys would inspire Disney to shoehorn plenty of new designs into these movies.

The only hope here is that some of these old EU craft get canonised and used in upcoming movies. Rogue One might be our best bet for some of them in the immediate future, particularly stuff like the gunboat, and I'm still hoping against hope that the Phil Lord and Chris Miller Han Solo film might give us a chance at Skiprays and Cloakshapes.

But it's a very tiny glimmer of hope I'm afraid.

I think you are over estimating the amount LFL worked with FFG on the Episode VII stuff. LFL is still not going to be making enough new stuff to warrant 2 waves per year.

I'm sort of in favor of dropping the EU for rebels and imperials. Might have to keep it up a bit for a bit with scum.

I wouldn't mind if Wave 9 were all TFA ships. That would give me a chance to flesh out my squads with more Scyks and Kihraxzes, maybe a second Most Wanted. And then I can start saving up for the Star Jewel!

I'd imagine the T70 and the TIE/fo will be the as-yet-unrevealed missing X-Wing SKU's, and will probably be out long before Wave 9 rocks up to the party.

Kylo's shuttle, the TIE/cog and other Resistance ships are likely, however - especially as we're currently expecting Wave 8 to hit around the same time as Episode VII, so Wave 9 could potentially be announced before the end of the year

Wave IX could be Force Awakens stuff. The so-called TIE/cog, that new First Order shuttle, maybe a revamped Falcon (seems unlikely). There are probably some other new ships that haven't been revealed yet.

Scum could use an Aces set for Starvipers and M3-A Interceptors.

Oh yeah, the sooner we get that sexy new shuttle thing the better! And we've all already seen it, which might make it mroe likely FFG have been given access to material for it. Possibly its filling it with crew that would be the problem though...

I'm guessing wave nine will have a tech upgrade title for the E-wing and the X-wing and possibly the Millennium Falcon for a new dish. Advanced radar anyone? And will have a new Scum ship from the new movie, some unknown bounty hunter is sure to be in there right? A new shuttle of some kind, either Kylo or TIE or assault lander, I don't know. TIE special for FO. And some other crazy Rebel thing, I hope. But really I want a new multi pack of some sort.

I believe FFG is adding pilots to the game which do not have a basis in the Expanded Universe or the Canon. I am adding Graz the Hunter to this list. I searched, to no avail, for information on this character at Wookieepedia.
