The Oncoming Storm OOC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

You'd have to get closer to inspect the door. Also, can I ask the OOC questions in the IC thread are coloured so as to provide some difference between them (unless you've gone mobile, in which case all is forgiven)

If y'all are willing to learn a bit of BBcode, it's pretty easy to put color on your text. If you want blue for example, just go:

[color=blue]Your text here, however much text you want, complete with line breaks, etc. And then when you don't want the color anymore, just go [/color] and that's it.

So the preceding bit of text would look like this:

Your text here, however much text you want, complete with line breaks, etc. And then when you don't want the color anymore, just go and that's it.

Pretty easy. Just put color=whatever in [square brackets], and then when you're done just put [square brackets] around /color

Note for our friends across the pond, "colour" doesn't work :) Ya gotta go American for this one...

Much as it pains me, he's right :(

Seriously though, I wasn't sure how to do this. Thanks man!

Alright people, we're back to the old ways. FeBommel, awayputurwpn and Khesh have all posted IC actions, but nobody else has. I'm holding Dag back for courtesy, so this one's lying on Revanchist7, Korro Zal and Wulie. And of those, Revanchist7 and Korro Zal have both posted in other areas of the forum. Wulie at least provided a reason for not posting tomorrow, but not before. If you guys don't want to play just say. I'm not here to bully you - I'm not that sort of GM - but I don't think people enjoy it if you just let the game die off by not posting. Sorry to rant, but I hope you understand.

Just a warning, but real life has gotten in my way again so my posting over this weekend is likely to be sketchy at best. I'm in London this afternoon/evening and I'm out all day tomorrow so it's unlikely I'll get many posts off. If you want an IC discussion of where to go from here I'd strongly encourage that, and I'll respond ASAP

My apologies for the IC thread. I misinterpreted this as meaning we were out of structured play and could ICly discuss options. Thank you for clarifying that.

It was my intention for that OOC text to be a certain color, formatting got screwy I guess. I fixed it.

No worries on both counts. I should really have pointed out you were still in structured time, it's not like you can read minds.

Except for Vohr. He can do that...

I should be on one floor with TeeNine. And I still love to post here but I had the problem that the weekend was full of work. Ishould have made that clear on friday, but it looked like I would have been done with it on Saturday. Did not work as expected. Ialso have a little bit of problem with keeping the overview, so quick posting does not work well...

Ah, no worries. Like I say, I'm not here to bully people into posting. Just do what works. I'll update the locations now

Sorry for being absent the last few days. Got whammied over the weekend with a bunch of stuff, so just catching up now with all the work I had to miss yesterday, which means (unfortunately) that gaming takes a backseat :(

Rast will take the next available PC slot to retrieve his thrown daggers (if possible) and descend as far as he's able without straining himself.

Retrieving thrown daggers is fine, since I'm sure they can be easily repaired if there's any damage. As for moving without straining, you can move up to the top of the stairs, but not down them (it's one maneuver to move on a floor, two to move between them).

Okay. I'll move as far as possible and retrieve my daggers while doing so. Wherever that puts me is fine.

Well I'm not sure where precisely they went, but I'd say it would take one maneuver to collect the ones on this level, taking you to the stairs, and another to go down the stairs. Shall we call that half the ones you threw?

Then there's the question how to proceed. I've got some ideas:

Direct approach: Our characters gather in front of the closed dooer, open it with the key, storm the information centre, kill everyone and/or take prisoner and try to retrieve as much of the stored data as we can before we make a run for it.

Negotiations: Our characters gather in front of the door, try to open a communication line to the enemy and give them the option of surrendering. They'll probably won't take the chance but it's worth a try and if it works we can maybe get some valuable prisoners.

Cunning Approach: One of our characters plays the good old role of "Wounded Imperial". There should be enough suits of Imperial armor lying around to pull that trick. We open a channnel via their internal comlink in the helmet (there should probably be one) and claim that the attackers have left and that we are wounded survivors. That should hopefully get them out, so that we can ambush them. Maybe we can even wiggle out some valuable information?

What do you think about these plans?

I only threw two, and they were both at short range targets. Your call on where they ended up!

If they hit, in the guy. If they missed, in easily-accessible bits of wall.

Okay I edited my post. If I need to take two maneuvers to retrieve both daggers, that's cool. Otherwise I will retrieve the daggers and starting moving down the stairs.

Nope, just the one. Now we're waiting on actions for Vohr and TeeNine.

I'm most in favor of the direct approach or negotiations. I think pulling off cunning would be significantly more difficult than negotiations given the trouncing we gave the Imperials before they fled. They'd be asking, "The Pubs just left? Came in and shot us up and left? I know they're jerks, but surely they came for a reason." Unless there was a really compelling and believable reason to offer for that, I think the ruse would very quickly be up.

Given the fact these Imperials work for the Sith Empire, they're probably much more afraid of their superiors than they are of us, no matter how bad we beat them. Negotiation will just give them more time to purge whatever valuable data or evidence might exist.

We're also badly shot up, so the direct approach seems dangerous.

I vote for trickery.

Yes, I fear you're probably both right.

On the other hand, if we try to open the door and storm the room, they'll probably wait in ambush for us...

Concerning our wounds, I'd see no reasons why we can't heal ourselves with stimpacks first. I mean everyone can use stimpacks, it would just be not that effective as our healer using them.

Any other thoughts?

Yes, any other thoughts? I'm waiting on you guys before I move onwards...

I'm waiting for other opinions, too...

By the way, is there a com-station next to the door so we could talk to the Imps?

Edited by FeBommel

There's a control panel with an intercom, yes.

Can Rast just take a bit of a breather while this is happening? Try to reduce his strain somehow?

Or is there not enough time?

You've got a few moments, so everyone may recover strain equal to Willpower
