Whoa... My cockpit glass on my Ties isn't nearly this red.
Its a very dull reddish brown.
The pictured TIEs are at red alert (full combat alert), whilst yours are at brown alert (OMG I'm gonna die!).

Another pretty aweful article. This is just more stalling and filler. I get that they need to bring along all the newbies that just dropped $40 on those game for the first time but this is also their big money maker.
Can't. Stall. Us. Out. Much. Longer.
Amazon has the new core set to release on Sept 18. Probably get a real announcement for them Friday.
In germany local and online stores name the official street release at 16th so i guess its about the same for US in case you don't know because of all that "Target" release discussion.
Minor thing but its odd that the Poe Dameron pilot card art doesnt actually have his black and orange xwing...
I was expecting them to release that at some point but im sure it wont be the T70 expansion because i think its unique to him and it would be odd to have the stock fighter in 'ace' paint schemes.
The again im only going off the lego 'poe damerons xwing' release which is black with orange accents.
Not majorly surprised by this article, I had my fingers crossed for the individual blisters being announced but the T-70 discussion is probably better for new players. With luck tomorrow will be the TIE/fo and then sometime this week we'll see the blisters announced and discussed.
They probably only gave FFG the art of the T-70s we saw in the trailers so far. Again, FFG can only make stuff based on what LFL gives them. And given that they didn't use Poe's actual squadron name for pilots, I don't think FFG was given too much.
What y'all on about regarding the new TIE being only subtly different - it's miles different! The whole surface is totally different!

By subtle, I mean you have to really study it up close to see the differences.

Yeah, I got that, I just thing it's really obvious. Different brains processing things different way I expect.

Which is fine with me; I'm planning on painting a black and orange one once the (assumed) expansions are out.
The thing about the new ties that stood out to me was that the texture on the wing panels is totally different. Noticed that right away, none of the other details I thought were at all noticeable unless you had both side by side to compare.
Im actually surprised that the TIE model is different for just some smaller changes. They couldve easily used the old and repainted it, they didnt and thats at least one thing about it i like. Even though it still feels like another (two) TIE Fighter(s) to me...

The solar panels are also slightly smaller on the FO Tie.
Wow, I really need to look over the new starter a lot more closely. Not only did I miss the differences in the ties, I also completely missed the talon roll. 0.0 That's pretty sweet.
Is it just me, or is the Wired EPT a pretty obvious take for test pilot A-Wings?

May not be a lot of new info in the article, but it did make me realize that Weapons Guidance is actually pretty cool with Proton Torpedoes. The torps themselves turn an eye to a crit, so your focus can turn a blank to a hit.
Uh... does anyone think the T-70 is underpriced? It's only 3 points more than the X-Wing, but it has an extra shield, boost, an extra upgrade slot, and a better maneuver dial with a new maneuver. O_o That's nuts. It's maybe not good at going slow, but it more than makes up for it in going fast and turning much better. I don't really have a lot of gameplay experience, but I'm looking at this and scratching my head.
Wired also seems really absurdly good.

The efficiency sharks on the board have already declared the new tie and x-wing dead on arrival (at least with the generics) as over priced garbage.
A sentiment I do not share. I think these, like all the other ships in this game will find it's place. And like a lot of ships, um that place is not 'the shelf'

nope
the T-70, if anything, is actually overpriced for its base stats
its the pilots and how you upgrade it that'll make it worth using. What it really has over the T-65 is boost and autothrusters, which allow it to transcend the shackles of just being some crappy jouster and let it sneak into being a real elite ship
Updating a classic? See I told you the T-65 fix was to replace it with a T-70. ![]()
too offensive to show

Short answer no.
More specifically in terms of competitive play, I see this as another E-Wing in that 1 elite Pilot looks to be competitive (Poe Dameron) while the rest of the pilot cards will sit in the folder collecting dust, which is a shame as Blue Ace's ability is sweet, yet it will be consigned to the "Doesn’t have and EPT" pile for casual play.
As others have mentioned on several occasions, given the choice between the Generic T-70 pilot and a BSP B-Wing with 2 points of upgrades (FCS) it still a no brainer to take the B-wing, so no the new T-70 is not OP.
As for casual anything goes, but the T-70 is not the new savior for the rebels some hoped it would be, and we still aren’t sure when any sort of Buff will be forthcoming for the T-65.
Somewhat pessimistically, I can't imagine that should they make a T-65 buff that FFG would want the "old" T-65 to be better than the T-70 so I hold little hope that any future Buff for the T-65 will have it back on competitive tables sadly. I hope I'm wrong but only time will tell.
Edited by Mace WinduHere's where I want to echo JoeBossRed7's usual sentiments and say, who cares about point efficiency? Just fly ships and have fun! These new ships look awesome! Let's play some X-Wing!
