Right, so...Target got me. They got me good. I ended up buying two of the new Core Set, and I immediately fell in love with the T-70 X-Wings. Naturally, I wanted to start list building, and I think I've got a simple - but potentially devastating - list build that could potentially be a decent take-all-comers type of build. And still being a fan of the E-Wing, well...I'll let the list explain itself.
Corran Horn (46)
E-Wing (35), BB-8 (2), Fire-Control System (2), Push the Limit (3), Engine Upgrade (4)
Red Squadron Veteran (27) x 2
T-70 X-Wing (26), Adrenaline Rush (1)
"But Kepora, Corran Horn already has Barrel Roll; why give him BB8?", you may be asking. Well, I actually had the idea when someone said that BB8 wouldn't benefit Corran. But then I thought about it - and he actually does. See, Corran's strength lies in his high Pilot Skill and double-tap ability. Barrel Rolling is awesome, but it eats up a valuable action, and Pus The Limit's almost necessary to make his double-tap worth it. So, after reading a thread about BB-8, this came to mind:
-Choose a green maneuver.
-Do BB-8's free Barrel Roll.
-PTL off the Barrel Roll to boost, Target Lock, Focus, or Evade
-Perform the green maneuver, clearing the stress from PTL
-Perform the regular action step to do an action that you didn't use PTL for.
So this gives Corran even better arc-dodging abilities (which he needs, given the E-Wing fragility!), while still allowing him to nab a Focus and slap a Target Lock on his intended victim. With FCS, he's free to burn his first Target Lock if necessary, and still have one for his second volley of shots.
Meanwhile, the T-70 X-Wings are more then agile enough to keep up with Corran, and even pull some Talon Rolls to keep the enemy guessing. They have Adrenaline Rush to aid Corran in taking out tough or super-agile opponents, letting them both in an enemy, ignore the stress, throw on a target lock or focus, and blast away - with proper positioning, that's a potential 16 shots with Target Locks. It's far from the toughest of builds, so this squad will have to do some serious tap-dancing to stay alive - but may the Force help whoever lands in all 3 ships' sights!
