Just my opinion, but I think we need to get away, scout ahear but not stray too far. We need to know who attacked us before making decisions on how to proceed.
Edge of Darkness OOC
I'm all for putting some space between us and the crash site then hunkering down and watching the path to see if we were followed and maybe identify our attackers.
Sounds great
Unless conditions force Liaka to go to Medium range of the speeder I would prefer to stay at long range. I can roll Stealth if you want, I’m assuming Liaka is at least in cover so that and the rain should be good for a few boost die!
You can move as far away as you want. If you're hunkering down to observe what follows, that would be a Stealth check for one of you versus the pursuers' Perception, with your cover and the rain (CCDBBBB).
Well, since Liaka is alone at Long range (assuming the rest, apart from Oro, are at extreme), I'll roll that.
Let's see what you can do with 2 Despairs:
Just in case you might want a check for getting placement for a possible ambush. Is knowledge warfare okay? Guessed average difficulty, narrative boost from getting pointers from the others on good placement for the team. Let me know if you want a different difficulty
Know-Warfare: 4eA+2eD+1eB 2 successes, 1 advantage

The two successes mean that you've all taken up good positions for the ambush, and so start in cover. The one advantage reveals that the enemy are not moving in a 'tactical' formation, as drilled by a regular military.
Can we all see the enemy movements?
Can we all see the enemy movements?
Liaka's scanner is picking them up, so unless she can share the information it's restricted only to her.
I don't think the droid has much more to do until he gets the signal to act. So he will try to analyse some of the fauna and admire the bird sounds. Let see how good he is at this, perhaps a 3 diff Know-education and 3 diff xenology?
Flower gazing: 3eA+1eP+3eD 3 successes

He swipes some flowers he recognizes as having medicinal uses and stuffs them in his pack, while keeping his eye down the barrel of the rifle
Bird Watching: 4eA+3eD 1 failure, 3 advantage

So he doesn't know the type of bird, but does avoid having it's excriment dropped on him
At this point what happens next is really on you guys. Kymrel, do you want to trigger the ambush? We'd keep the same initiative as before. Combat would start at Short range and you'd all get a single Boost to your first attack (you've still got the three Setbacks due to the weather).
Sounds good, they would have already passed the first set of grenades (triggering them to set to explode the next time they are passed), the front line of grenades will go off when the front enemy comes within engaged range of it. We could have that happen first as our signal to attack. Then as they retreat we can push them back toward the second set of grenades (and they will be in closer range for Liaka). Sort of confusing to detail over text.
Sure, let's just go for the ambush. I would like a bit of a description of what Liaka sees when they get closer to the wreck. I was planning on observing them and if they seem too strong slink away, but if not try to initiate an ambush when they encounter the booby traps.
So description, then trigger the ambush? All in one post, or do you want time to call the whole thing off if needed?
All in one post is fine, unless they are heavily armed and armored.
Lets try to take at least one alive so we can get some answers as to why we were attacked.
One PC slot now.
One PC slot now.
So, short range but 3 setbacks for the rain? Or longer range for the rifle-dudes?
Would the combat scanner / scanner goggles negate any of those setbacks? Any upgrades for shooting?
Combat scanner/scanner goggles can penetrate the rain, knocking off two Setbacks. No upgrades at this point.
Armoured guy is at Short range, others are at Medium.
No Cool necessary (it's easier to keep the old order) but thanks for doing it in case we had needed to save time.
So should Liaka take the first shot, or would Oro be a better choice? I suppose that with her up-souped blaster Liaka might as well...
What slot is next in the initiative?

I thought he was a close range combat fighter.
Indeed he is, but he is a decent shot and (unlike Liaka) rather tough. So having him go first would be more to draw enemy fire towards him and not your rather fragile Lieutenant ![]()
