Thanks! That helps a lot to know.
Alliance High Command has - as far as I'm concerned - issued a set of orders regarding treatment of prisoners stating that they aren't to be mistreated beyond an unreasonable level. That means no torture, no cruel and unusual punishment, and no execution. The stated reason was that they wanted to separate themselves from the Empire, who make gleeful use of such measures. Doctor Cohlen has continually backed such measures; Lieutenant Braxus feels that at times they have prevented his units from operating effectively. If there are any further questions, or I haven't effectively clarified what military law states, just let me know.
Am I correct in assuming that we are waiting for Kael to put the results of his actions into an IC post before Zavvel responds? Just making sure it's not me everyone is waiting for without me having any idea ![]()
No, I need to make a judgement on that roll. And I have, though I'm making a narrative note for later and not revealing the details.
Kael, narrate your roll in the IC thread. Kymrel, act as you please.
OK, but Zavvel still hasn't responded to Liaka's latest set of questions...
Well he's just typing on his pad for right now, which was the last action I posted. He won't say anything until Zav responds to the first set of questions.
OK, so now we just wait for Zavvel's response I guess.
Yeah, I basically did the roll now because he's creating this ruse as a back up to what is currently going on. I mean if Zav spills everything there really is no need to threaten to execute him. That would be a bit too heavy handed. But if he keeps being reticent then Kixue may see no other course than to pretend they are going to execute him for his crimes.
Though honestly Kixue wouldn't object to leaving the room while some of the survivors have a "word" with him too.
I'm running out of questions, now I'm mostly trying to get him upset, hoping he'll revile something he might not have done had he managed to stay calm. If any of you have more questions, feel free to pipe in!
Quote from IC:
"I never told anyone else about what I'd done, not exactly. I told Kanbar, my XO, that I was going to see the spook, but he knew nothing else, and one of you people put a bolt through his neck back at the warehouse, so he's not really going to be worth questioning. I didn't have any other accomplices. Don't bring yourselves down with a **** witch hunt for more conspirators, because you won't find any," he seems irritated by the weight of questioning being launched at him.
"I wasn't the one who revealed the location of the base, I don't know who that was, and I couldn't guess anyway. I'm never happy to see anyone dead, even the Colonel - he was good, in and of himself, even if he was too wrapped up in your Republic ideals."
And in a second post:
"He said his name was Callox; whether that's a pseudonym or not I don't know. We spoke three days before the op, at a cafe in Sanctuary Square, in the centre of Nostria. He was human, I'm fairly sure he was ISB - almost certain in fact, given the circumstances - but he was in plain clothes. I don't know more than that," you can tell that Zavvel's willingness to share more information is wavering. "I was able to reach him unnoticed because I'm a Captain, nobody watched where I went, least of all my own people."
"He seemed pleased at the information, though he thought I was implying a small raid, nothing like the scale it was really at. He thanked me for the information, but told me that my service to the Empire was payment enough. Brakast even had the nerve to say how relieved he was that some aliens still had proper morals."
What is the difficulty on an opposed Perception (mine) vs. his deception to see if N97 can tell if he is telling the truth?
Edited by dtdunnHis Deception is DD, with a Boost to you due to him being tired and stressed by this whole experience.
Perception opposed: 1eA+1eP+1eB+2eD 1 success, 2 threat

Don't like the threat, but at least N97 succeeds at the skill check. I will post IC when you get a chance to interpret.
Let me know if you want me to have a roll for each of the two sections of conversation.
Edited by dtdunnI honestly don't have any further questions as Kixue is of the opinion that Zav is a "lone wolf".
Also the name of his contact, would Kixue be familiar with the person? Or an Intel roll maybe to recall the man from his own time in Imperial Intel?
I would like to point that while there is enough evidence to nail Zavvel on the Treason charge, we have yet to cover the aqueduct mission or the fact that he attacked with the intent of bodily harm on Issan and Rax.

Since I was not a part of the game at that time the details are a bit fuzzy, and I won't have time to trawl through the IC thread several months back to try to figure it out. Could you perhaps formulate a few relevant questions?

N97 can tell that he's telling the truth, but to do so requires him to overclock his processor to resolve his facial expression recognition systems; you take two strain.

He's a low-level functionary, but you could make a Formidable (DDDD) check in a skill of your choice to recall him.
Hmmmmmmm that's a hefty difficulty to beat lol!
Well it would be a heck of a coincidence to have even encountered him previously, and remembering him would be even more impressive.
I'm away this weekend, and so won't be able to post until Monday night. If you have a think between now and then of what you'd like to do to go further in this scene, and post in the OOC thread, I'll move things on then.
Sure. I'm waiting for Sarone to lend a hand with the pertinent questions ![]()
N97 is satisfied and awaiting the completion of the others interrogation so they can return to the Lt. He can assist anyone with further questions/actions if needed, just ask the droid to do something and he will do it so just write out the results. This may also give an assist on a check (boost).

Sarone, can you think of any pertinent questions regarding this, or should we drop it?
The big questions for the Aqueduct mission are the following:
For the last set:
Those are the big questions that come to mind. Feel free to use them in which ever order.
Thanks!
If someone wants to make a questioning IC post I'm all up for it. However if you want to end the interrogation, that's also an option.
