So am I missing some way to set notifications for a specific thread, or do I have to globally change the settings for all topics I "follow" ?
Edge of Darkness OOC
I have a question, are we going to be building up a rebel base? I noticed there were rules for such things ..... I think in Desperate Allies and Strongholds maybe. And if so I wanted to go ahead and read them for ideas ![]()
The long-term goal for the cell is to found a new base; the path of events may indeed lead you that way ![]()
Cnl: I tried to message this to you directly, but it says you can't receive messages. This is a link to the star wars files I keep on my dropbox. In the file called "weapons-gear-droid-armor crafting.pdf" I put the tables which show the different items that can be crafted, the templates, difficulties, and die results options. Let me know if anything isn't clear. This is the folder holding that file:I will let you know what item he is collecting materials for, then through IC/OCC I can post about it, confirm the difficulties (if needed, some times it may be just 'borrowing' something) then will do rolls and IC put up results and discuss time needed to craft.
Thanks, that makes my life much easier. So you'd be rolling for acquisitions and then crafting? Just so long as you tell me clearly what you need, we can work it out.
First need to interact with quartermaster, then will likely set up shop temporarily near the main supply depot. (If we are going to be here more permanently then he will make a more permanent type building for the shop away from the main populace due to noise). He will go through supplies available, then likely barter/purchase some supplies from local machine shop/metal worker for anything else he needs. He would be organizing any machine shop equipment we have (which may be very little so a short list is fine). Mainly this is RP for him so he can have the shop set up and eventually staff it with an rebel mechanic and likely droid helper to do routine repairs while he is on mission.
Do you want me to RP out the quartermaster info or do you have a name/species/gender already set?
The quartermaster's name is Lunu Somal. She's a Rutian Twi'lek.
This is only a short-term stop, so there's no need to set up a permanent field shop. Many of the cell's supplies were lost when they fled the old base, so you'll have to do a lot of scrounging/'requisitioning discretely'. As for machine shop equipment, I'm not quite sure what you're pushing for - is that gear from a book, or actual equipment in this barely-industrial-era village?
The Welding Rod he is going to build will need about 400cr worth of materials, he will barter with some of the items the rebels have plus he will offer his services for in barter. I will post later today. Luckily the main parts of a welder are low tech, it is just the power supply and a few basic electronics. I will RP the interactions IC.
I edited N97's greeting post made late in the evening to acknowledge Dr. Hanson, sorry missed that for some reason. N97 would make sure to greet each team member.
Can anyone confirm if Tookur, Sequano or Chief Vwikk survived/arrived at the temporary rebel camp?
If I understand correctly The Brick is Tookur's pet project and he is in charge if it?
Do we have any other general mechanics around such as Vwikk? Or is he vehicle maintenance only?
Sorry for so many posts, trying to get myself a good understanding of things.
Would it be possible to get dossiers on the people I'll be working with and known enemy leaders/targets

If you can get one on Lieutenant Liaka Atala your character would know pretty much all there is in her background.

Not a problem. All three if them did make it. It is his pet project, as you say, and he usually drives it, but the whole cell has access to it, as part of policy. It took the longer road route away from where the combat team were, arriving by road in the village along with the support team. Chief Vwikk has a team of a dozen or so mechanics (total personnel is about 150, of which 90 are front-line combatants, though many have secondary skills.

I don't currently have MS Office on my computer, so it may take a bit as I'll be writing and saving a post in-forum, but I suppose I could give you the run-down on three or four senior figures for each side.

Let's just assume you all know each other already.
Do I need to provide an item-by-item list of the cell's resources? Because I'm really not going to do that.
While this is going on, what do the rest of you want to do? I don't want the game stalling while the crafting goes on.

Groovy I'll just wait and see if I get access to her dossier ![]()

Take your time. I don't think we need it anytime soon. Just something he'll want at some point.
No need to delay, and no need for a list of all the resources. He will likely craft mainly at night, and won't have resources gathered to do this for a few days.
In that case, are you ok with me moving on the plot for the whole game?
Please do. I was just filling in background stuff. Please don't ever hold for me, the droid will just keep chugging in the background.
Yeah, the only thing Doc Hanson is going to do is turn in and get up early to make his rounds for the villagers.
Also, Far Horizons has rules for homesteads that I would like to blend in with the base rules, if possible. Either that, or set up a "business" in the village as a doctor/surgeon. How does that sound?
Setting up an aid station is certainly possible, but the village is not really an appropriate site for a base - its on top of an exposed hilltop, and there's little room even for the villagers. Base building may take a while to happen, but when it does you can go to town with all the different rules.
I'm enjoying the IC conversation going on, but I appreciate it's not for everyone, so I'll move things on soon.

Don't mind me I'm just having breakfast
. But the traitor was captured? Would I know this IC? Interrogation sounds like a good thing to do at some point ![]()

I'm assuming the "traitor" refers to Zavvel, and I'm not sure how widespread the knowledge would be regarding how that whole fiasco unfolded.

I was unsure which is why I'm not assuming Kixue knows about the traitor.
Though to be fair .... I may not be able to do a good interrogation without having to use Influence .... and even then dark side pips. But that's part of the fun!!!!
Edited by KaelAll the Rebels are aware that the cell has a high-level prisoner, but as an officer, and one in Intelligence at that, you are aware of his status as a former Rebel captain and the cell's former commander.
