Edge of Darkness OOC

Not quite. Lieutenant Braxus is asking for more information on possible party crashers. With that being the case...

I want to use the computers to see if anyone else coming. Big, metal targets are easy to find, but I'm also concerned about smaller objects as well as any additional forces.

What is the Computer check for that?

Modulating the sensors is an Average Computers check, which would constitute your action for the turn.

WOOT!

Refining Sensors: 3eA+1eP+2eD 2 successes, 1 Triumph

TRIUMPH!

Would you be cool with the Triumph going towards providing information on where best to place a charge that would collapse the ceiling on any Imperial reinforcements?

I believe the primary goal would be to collapse the ceiling on the AT-STs. The original plan was for CT to find the biggest fuel tank/munitions stockpile and put a charge on it. Though, personally, that should be a mechanics check.

However, it should only require one demo charge in that case.

Actually, I just remember that Mass Combat is a ruleset and it is quickly approaching that. I wouldn't mind giving an upgrade to all PC-Friendly forces when the Imperials come in. This represents likely approaches the Imperial would take as well as taking advantage that this is our turf they are encroaching on.

What do you think?

I don't have access to the Mass Combat rules, so if it's alright I'd prefer not to use any sort of dice rolling and instead go for a narrative approach.

As for the detonation, you could of course target the AT-STs, as with any of the forces coming in. I'll get an IC post up ASAP outlining the situation.

For now, I left the back end of my post open. Getting the two successes and a Triumph pretty much gave a us a full detailed view of what is coming at us, how they are getting here, and potential directions of attack. Unless they have stealth units, which can be just as devastating.

For the Empire, stealth takes too long...

Ok, a couple of big questions:

#1 May I post a talking action, showing Lieutenant Braxus the structural weakness? This way he can adjust his plan accordingly?

#2 Are there any vehicles in the motorpool area? If there are vehicles and said column was destroyed, would we be able to get the vehicles out? In addition, what is the status of those vehicles?

#3 Now that I am in control of the terminal, what else can/may I do with it? Are there anything right out?

coudl maybe be better to just tell everybody via comms that its out. ill then just go ahead and plant the charge i got. but you need to mention how far out the AT-ST's are so that i can set the charge properly

True, but I also don't want Zavvel's loyalists to know too much. If they're more than willing to gun us down despite us taking out their captain, then there isn't a whole lot of trust there.

But I also want to hear from CC before I say anything more. Or I can just let CT know.

  1. Yes you can
  2. From what you can see, the Imperials did at least think to destroy the vehicles in the motor pool on entry. Presumably they thought that that was your only method of escape.
  3. You could choose to remove/wipe the files on the terminal. There are also surveillance cameras, but those only cover the streets immediately around you.

So we have no vehicles to speak of?

What about The Parley Team's vehicle?

Are there other terminals connected with this one (doubtful)? In addition, can I get access to communications from this terminal and other records?

Roughly half of the cell's vehicles were in the vehicle pool and now destroyed. However there are still some others - the Brick (obviously, I'm not brave enough to do anything to that), several swoops (mostly disassembled) stored at the base, and the speeders which were either out on extended duty or being used by the defectors to reach the meeting.

As for the terminals, there are other interfaces but they all link to the same database. You can extract the communications logs and administrative records, along with other data you might want to search for.

Dumb questions: The mostly disassembled swoops, how long would it take to get a few built up? If the answer is no or not right now, can they be moved through the sewers (in this case I believe that they are still boxed up and thus "a bit easier" to move)? How many men would be required to move the swoops?

Excellent on the last part. Will I be able to find the primary data server so I can rig the demo charge up?

Moving the swoops in a crate would be full encumbrance for one person. They'd take some time to set up, so you likely wouldn't be able to do that before the Imperials caught you, but there would be no movement restrictions. There are four of them in the store room.

Fortunately the Rebels don't want to put their data on an Imperial network, so there is a central server with very explosive potential. One of the Rebels could help guide you to it.

Ok, I'm having a bit of trouble with the "full encumbrance". Best example is Geoff and Oro, and the differences between them. Are we looking at 5+ Encumbrance for a single person to move the swoops? What if we have two or more people moving the vehicles?

I'll post an interaction and info dump in a little while.

Hmm, I suppose it was something of a generalisation. The rules don't state the Encumbrance of vehicles, so I would estimate the crates to be Encumbrance 7.

That makes sense, plus it might be bulky unless the swoops are in a cage-like crate. In which case, because they would help with scouting missions, Lieutenant Braxus may want to grab those first. Would two men be able to move it relatively quickly?

Two men could move it fairly quickly, though there'd be an Average Coordination check if they wanted to take a second maneuver (two people running with a bulky crate through a gun battle is a fairly risky proposition after all).

I am slightly confused, are some of us still in structured time? Or is the combat over?

We're in an extended series of incidentals. I'm not really sure since the group seems to be splitting up with a combat unfinished, though I've been encouraging this. I could wrap up the combat as I was going to run the next few events in narrative rather than structured time, as that would seem the more logical approach.

Sounds good. Rax is not abandoning the fight just yet.

I figured we might be wanting to get the fighting out of the way.

We are still in combat time. I'm just hoping we can get Zavvel's forces in line after taking care of the party crashers.

@Imperial Spy: You want to try to reason with Zavvel's forces again? With him down and Lieutenant Braxus on the high ground, you might have a better time. Or I could speak for the group and you could assist me. What do you think?

I didn't think he would :D
