Sorry for the cross post, Titch.
Edge of Darkness OOC
Hi guys. ColonelCommissar asked me to "sub" in for Galth and play Rax Zetrac for a month or so since Galth will be unable to keep playing for personal reasons. Since I've been lurking on the IC thread mostly (and the OOC when overly curious) I am up to speed and ready to go.
Tis unfortunate, but that's what happens in the education field. Between papers, projects, and finals, it can be a hectic month.
Just out of curiosity, do you have character in the pipe you would want to bring in for the campaign?
No, CC asked me to take over playing Rax, so there will be no change in the composition of the group. I'm just the temp guy!
Yeah sorry about that. You'll only be around for a bit. I'll be sure to make it fun though!
So, everyone having a good week?
Yeah it's pretty good. At this point I think I'll move the plot on as soon as I get a chance. I had been giving you guys the chance to lead the way but I may have left it too long. Sorry.
Yeah, I won't lead from the driver's seat of the getaway vehicle ![]()
So, two Challenge dice and one Setback dice, then?
Them's the ones.
Nice, but could you post dice rolls in the IC thread?
Crossing his arms, Geoff stares at the source of the voice. "Doctor Cohlen, I presume?"
Am I so predictable?

2+2+2=6
Doctor Cohlen is the only one to know the codes for Emergency Surgery.
She is also the only name that would know of both the group and the Safe house.
She is also the only woman that everyone on the team would know.
And she's the most plot-convenient character. But admirable deduction nonetheless!

There could have been others. But this is a home brew and I'm having a reasonable amount of fun.
Though being told the team and I need to get off planet not even four days after getting here is a bit of a pain.
Hey, you don't need to agree with me. I'm the GM, you're not meant to!

Oh, believe me, I don't agree with this...
Hey Tear, you thinking about going Shepard or Gibbs for this?
Edited by SaroneJust so as you know, I'll be away for this weekend so posting is unlikely. However, there is some preparation you can do. Other than working out how to confront Zavvel directly, you will need to make a social check at some point (using any social skill) for which things like evidence, well-structured propaganda vids and anything else of the like will win you Boost dice.
Sorry Sarone, not getting the Shepard or Gibbs reference.
Gibbs is from NCIS. He is a Marine Corps Sniper.
Shepard is in Mass Effect. He has a tendency of putting his boot up people's arses.

*Far up people's arses.

As for me, I'm not planning on having Geoff pull a Liz (The Blacklist Reference).
That being said, if were going to fight, I intend to fight.
Okay, my initial thoughts are thus:
-Any footage we have gathered should be used only to bring the people within the cell to our side, either by showing Zavvel's duplicity or maybe even going so far as to show that Zavvel was responsible for the Colonel's death (maybe both?)
-When the inevitable fight breaks out, we cut the head off the beast and any of his lieutenants that will no doubt refuse to stand down, we then turn those corpses loose (not Zavvel's) and put the blame on them for the destruction of the bridge.
A bit heartless, I know, but after Zavvel's play I'm not seeing another way out that doesn't compromise the perception of the cell in the public's eye and/or lead to Zavvel-loyalists being a problem for us later.

I concur. That being said, if we can present the smoking gun ala StarCraft 2 we can win. That means we get our evidence out to the media first. Or at least someone trusted in the media.
Also, I'm concerned that Zavvel might try to clean house of anyone with "questionable loyalties". That means getting them out fast.
In turn, we need to get a report to Alliance High Command. Zavvel is already doing his best at trying to beat us to the punch there, but if we have records and evidence, that can help out.
Anyone else have any ideas?
