Edge of Darkness OOC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Looking at the character sheets, I realize that my character has the highest Intelligence. It's even higher than the Astromech's. Oh boy.

However, if we try to charm our way through the ranks, we look golden. Between Geoff and Issan, it looks like we can almost handle anything.

You all joined the Rebellion however you wished. You were brought together after the leadership of the Rebel cell on Arkos II requested some new operatives. You're going into a reasonably established cell in the beginning, but more on that once we begin.

Of course, you're the Doc! You're probably the only guy with higher education between the lot of us ;P

True, but I wasn't expecting to be the only one with Intelligence 4. That being said, this might be good for us in the long run, depending on circumstances.

Interesting. Anything we should know ahead of time? That way you won't have to cover it all in the first post.

Just that this is a cell which has recently won some victories, and is thus expanding its power base. Arkos II is a planet in the Inner Rim, one which has been under heavy Imperial oppression for many years. There has been some conflict between the leadership in the past, but Alliance High Command generally turns a blind eye to good results. Any specific questions?

Right, I've updated the first post to include links to all your character sheets. Could everyone finish up their backgrounds, confirm that you're happy with where you're at, and then post a Force dice roll here. Once everyone's done that we can get the game started!

i do have a quick question. are you worried about encumbrance?
if you are then ill go tally it up now. and i may have to re do some of what i bought

Am happy with things for Toco.

Really happy to see another soldier.

If you copy/paste the bbcode below your roll we can all see the result directly as opposed to having to click on it. Ex: : 1d100 92

If you could tally it up, that would be useful. I don't want you way over the limit. That being said, I'm sure we can come to some agreement.

OK, so all tallied up!

Guys if you need something bought, I have s**t lots of monies left! (1282)

I'm happy with everything

I'm looking forward to this :D

Yep, if anyone wants a better gun they can have a donation from Titch

I am the GM. I allow it

oh wait hang on :P lol
i meant the smalls :P like food or rations, or stimpacks :P
im keeping the big stuff for me :P lol
nah, if its needed then we'll sort something out :P

I wasn't sure if it was 1k creds with more for spending duty or 1500 base. If I have cress left (I spent exactly 1000) I'll pick up a couple Stims and a stun grenade.

Thanks for that. You get 500 starting + 1000 for the base. Thus you should have 500 creds worth of gear + pocket money

Looks like Issan will be our albatross!

That's five for the Destiny pool. Now who are we missing...

That will be me, bringing up the rear.

Classes start today and been spending the morning at the University.

Force roll: 1eF 1 Dark Side

By my count, that is four light side to three dark side. Maybe we should consider getting a Jedi or two to mitigate that later on.

And we're all set to go! Is everyone happy with their sheets? I'll kick things off just as soon as I've finished supper

I'll be back home later tonight. In the mean time, a brief and public history on Geoff Hanson, Refugee Doctor.

A human male from Chandrilla, Geoff Hanson is 32 years old and a former member of the Refugee Relief Movement (RRM). Currently, Geoff is working as a go between for the RRM and the Alliance, in an effort to limit the damage caused by the Empire, pirates, and natural disasters.

As a member of the RRM, Geoff was sent to various disaster relief centers as well as refugee camps caused by both disasters as well as the Empire's heavy handed tactics. In time, Geoff has discovered, much to his dismay, that the Empire was not only willing to profit from such suffering, but multiply it. Between reprisals against demonstrations, indiscriminate bombardments, and the reduction of rights, Geoff has also found corruption. On more than one occasion, medical and relief supplies that were meant to help the refugees were diverted to either the black market, or, worse, a Moff's or General's personal clinic.

Recently, with the destruction of Alderaan and the revelation of the DS-1 Battle Station, the Death Star, Geoff has decided to take a stand. Resigning from the RRM in order to distance them from his actions, Geoff is seeking to get information to the RRM, reveal Imperial atrocities, and get help to those in need. While he has not thrown his entire lot in with the Alliance, Geoff is willing to work as go between, especially in circumstances that can help the Alliance, the RRM, and the those in need.

Currently, Geoff's role in the team is both as doctor, field surgeon, and negotiator. He has also been tasked by the RRM to send them reports about Arkos II, gathering and analyzing information and evidence so that the RRM can send resources there.

Personality and Description:

An intense and passionate doctor, Geoff has little time to spend with fools, especially when lives are on the line. He believes that means justifies the ends, and is extremely unwilling to condone actions that jeopardize innocent civilians. In turn, though, he does recognize that the Empire is more than willing to commit crimes against all beings, especially in light of recent developments. However, he has yet to relinquish his oath as a doctor.

At 32 years old, Geoff is a human male from Chandrilla, he messy brown hair and five o'clock shadow giving the appearance of a man who wants to heal the galaxy. A graduate of Chandrilla Medical, Geoff has a well rounded education with studies in computers to complement his medical skills. Currently, he is dressed in a have grey and brown jacket with a webbing holding various medical supplies. He also has a back pack that has been converted to carry a standard medpac and a modified field medpac.

That's it for now. Because of my connections to the RRM, I have been given a limited amount of gear. This medical gear will be used to do my best to assist any current medical facilities and clinics. However, if there are no such facilities, I have been tasked to setup a temporary clinic and to document injuries and ailments for the RRM.

Any questions/comments/concerns?

To clarify, Geoff has an Obligation score I exchange for some extra medical supplies

I just need to add the couple items I mentioned to my sheet when I get home and build out his background a bit, but I don't think those should hold up starting.

Also, maybe we can mention where we are in the world since I suspect we have different timezones and so we have a better idea when the game will be more and less active? I'm in New York, so EDT. It's 3:30pm here right now. :)

Texas, 2:25 pm as of this post.

I'm in the UK, where we have GMT (because we invented time you peasants) and it's 8.45pm. This should be useful. I mean I can access the forums while I'm at school so I can respond pretty much any time but this does mean I know who'll be asleep when.
