on that note, I have a project to do when I get back to base!!
rig up guns to something that can shoot them.
Edge of Darkness OOC
Just curious, what are your ideas about that? The impression I'm getting is that you're either looking to set up some mounted weapons or have "mobile turrets".
The mobile turrets I'm thinking of are the ones from the Dark Forces and Jedi Knight series.
i dont know either of those series.
what im wanting is guns rigged up, not turrets. as im thinking you can tell the difference between blaster/rifle fire and turret fire.
Guns rigged up to what?
a frame of sorts. with a basic computer system to simulate human firing.
i am no RL engineer, so i would need input.

Star Wars: Dark Forces and Star Wars: Jedi Knight are a series of old computer and console games from the 90's and 00's. They had a Chuck Norris character in the game that did Chuck Norris actions.
The "turret" here is actually a small, self deploying, static turret. The character would deploy the turret in an area for immediate fire support. While the range and functionality isn't great, it was quite effective.
There were also rules for the turret in the SAGA Edition, in The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide. It was a special talent tree that game members of the Saboteur Prestige Class. This talent tree gave players access to a disposable turret that was usable once per encounter.
As to building one in game, it would depend on how big and how many you want to carry. A small one might have a holdout blaster, servos, and some targeting equipment/software. Not hugely effective, but it can be an annoying little bugger. Especially used in groups.
Edited by SaroneI would point out that acquiring the tech for that might be difficult, as would finding a way to put one together. Then again, there's usually an evil organisation with some useful stuff lying around in these things isn't there?
id try to programme them myself. using the programming in me already. as i am able to use guns and the like so ill just raid my personal systems
Are you able to do that (someone who understands computers please enlighten)? Also, point of advice, I wouldn't go raiding my own systems. Duplicating, yes, but if you try raiding them you might end up minus something quite important. The ability to speak, for instance.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Hopefully we can get a bit further ahead this week with the demolition mission.
Just curious, until someone botches a skill check, can we just have a list of what everyone is doing for their actions?
Geoff's actions are to assist CT with the demo work as well as move to the next pillar with CT. That will provide skilled assistance to CT, usually.
What do you all think?
I'd support that. We're assuming everyone's doing much the same thing each turn so for the sake of brevity shall we say:
Round 1
Rax's Stealth check (complete)
CeeTee's Mechanics check (Geoff's Skilled Assistance+1 Difficulty upgrade)
Toco, Oro and Issan may make suggestions/actions
sorry guys, busy weekend.
3green, 2 yellow, boost, red, (howmany)purple?
1 purple, otherwise all good
As i mentioned in the in play thread, Toco is taking overwatch ready to respond to any Imperial actions.
Just to throw is out there, should the security perhaps do something to distract the guards and make things easier for demolitions? Not start a firefight, but maybe just do something flashy that compels the Imperials to investigate? First thing that comes to my mind is that Issan starts ranting some doomsday nonsense.

yer i wouldnt raid my programming, i would basically copy and paste the part that allows me to shoot and possibly aquire targets. so have a hefty project, but i dont think its impossible. also, automated turrets for the truck could be done ![]()

That seems workable. Throw me a precise action and we can roll with it.

I like that. If you think it can work then we'll see what can happen.
sorry guys, busy weekend.
3green, 2 yellow, boost, red, (howmany)purple?
Um, I think you rolled an extra ability dice. It's Intelligence 4 (Geoff), Mechanics 2 (CT), and unskilled assistance from Oro. That should come out to 2 Ability Dice + 2 Proficiency Dice + 1 Boost Dice + 1 Difficulty Dice + 1 Challenge Dice
I'm not sure if CC is going to want you to reroll or just take the extra 2 advantages off.
Also, what are you going for with the countdown?

For now, no. Let Demo group get at least three of the charges rigged before you all do anything that would drag more Imperials to us.

I like this idea, I'd just say be careful to make it seem innocent and harmless enough that it doesn't attract more attention overall. ![]()

my mechanics skill gives me 1 green and 2 yellow.

as for the countdown this one im setting to max time we need. and ill take the correct amount of time off the next timer so as to make them blow at the same exact time.
It's easier if you just take off the two advantages.
I think I am confused about who is where.
I thought Toco was with the support team, not with the explosives. Using his rifle to provide cover.
oh, then in that case, I too am confused
Toco is with the support teams. Not sure how he got in with the explosives...
I know things have slowed down a bit.
Colonel, could you give us a situation report, including who is where and what the current task we are working on is? ( I mean current die roll, not blowing up bridge
)
