Edge of Darkness OOC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Spent the 5xp on the Sniper Shot talent, Page 156 AoR core.

Will enough time pass for strain recovery?

We recover all strain. That being said, I do want to perform a Medicine check on Rax, Oro, and Toco before we go much further. In addition, if anyone has mechanics and wants to repair TC, I can help (with Four Intelligence, I should be replacing the Intel score of the other person for the repairs).

Just curious, is there any extra xp from bringing in the body from the ambush?

In addition, can players nominate other players for special recognition? If so, I nominate Rax for the hair-brained scheme to get away from the pursuit and for also being a **** good shot.

Edited by Sarone

Thanks for that recommendation! Rax, you get +5xp for the plan while Geoff gets +5 Duty for recovering the body. Did anyone else help him with it?

COuld I do a diagnostics on the vehicle? see if all its systems and body work are still working. if not ill commence to repair.

also, its unfortunate i cant repair myself :/ lol

Wow, thanks guys!

Bought a rank in Skilled Jockey and Shortcut. Ought to give us a slightly smoother ride in the future.

Aw, who am I kidding. It'll never be smooth, just less fatal.

*Marginally less fatal. Let's not go too far...

Bought a rank in Grit (which gives me the value the sheet was purporting I had in the first place, whoops)

Well that's always useful. Once's everyone's made the change I'll post the updated Duty scores and we can get underway with Episode 2

Incidentally, how did everyone find the 'Season Premiere?' I was using my usual GMing technique of writing out three sentences of plot and ad-libbing the rest, which usually goes surprisingly well!

I have enjoyed it.

I am curious to see what the problem at the base is. Traitor? Incompetence? Horrible Luck?

It was a lot of fun!

I'm going to hold on to the 5XP for now. It's not a whole lot to really go for currently and I get the feeling I might need to go into a second specialization sooner than later for some much needed skills.

As for the +10 duty, I'm putting 5 in Personnel and 5 in Resource Acquisition.

Also, we should also put in the first page the OOC the two E-11 carbine, the six Vibroknives, and twelve frag grenades for group "equipment". Unless we want to get rid of some of the gear for additional supplies.

Actually, that is a good question: besides keeping the weapons for our own use, can we trade them in for supplies and additional equipment (or extra XP/Duty)?

Pretty good, at least to me. With all of the recent Game of Thrones/Walking Dead crap going on, I thought we would have a betrayal/power struggle between the Captain and the Colonel.

Just curious, are going to keep going with the original IC or create a new thread?

Edited by Sarone

The original thread will keep going. I was just using this to delineate sessions. Also, out of curiosity, is the tried-and-true power struggle plot line one you don't like?

Good idea. It let's people be able to adjust characters in between mission and spreads out the character advancements a bit.

I'm not a huge fan of power struggles. Especially when NPCs start dropping like flies because no one wants to deal or communicate. That, and sometimes Common Sense/Paranioa 101 aren't being followed when it should be.

Clarification: Done right, the tried and true power struggles can be enjoyable. That being said, it also depends on the group (GM and Players). With power struggles, it's always about numbers; number of men, the size of the credit accounts, how equipped are they, and so on. If we go for a power struggle type deal, then there can be quite a bit of NPCs being recruited, trained, and equipped that might put the average minion into rival territory (coincidently, I enjoy that).

Honestly, Game of Thrones is the campaign where characters die in creation, bad guys are doing it for the "LULZ", and no one wants to take five minutes to consider the possibility of crap hitting the fan. But that's just me.

That's not the direction I was planning on taking it. I guess you'll have to see how this one pans out!

I'm still missing details on how Oro and CeeTee plan to spend their xp (if at all). Once I have that I'll move us on

Oh, that's my plan. Besides, a failure on intel's part doesn't mean we have the "sudden but inevitable betrayal."

I'm going to spend my 5 XP on Toughened: +2 Wound Threshold.

I'm enjoying it so far. I think the story is great and players are doing a great job making their characters interesting.

It's my first play by post game, so can't really comment on how it's worked out in terms of that.

no xp spend.
nothing of use.

as for how its all going, I feel its great, as with me, first play by post.

and i hope your all getting on with my lack of speech and the like... after all i am a droid...

No worries about the lack of speaking, I can appreciate you're a man of few beeps.

whats this "Man" thing :S

Rolled for the Perception Check

Didn't necessarily succeed, but I probably could recall something, like either a side entrance or the equivalent.

Since everything is a bit quieter now, can I go ahead and perform a Medicine check on Toco, Oro, and Rax? That way if we get into a fight we won't be totally boned.

Edited by Sarone

That seems reasonable. Go ahead if you want to. I'll assume it took place in the drive over

Thank you.

Also, since I was the second post on the OOC, I have been changing it up and adding a wound tracker, a loot inventory, and event tracker. This way we shouldn't have to worry too much about paper work.

Beyond my standard pool and the relative difficulties, can I add any boost from aid from Issan since he is the only other person to not be injured?

Ooh, I do like it when my players are helpful!

Ooh, I do like it when my players are helpful!

I know that it helps me keep track of wounds. Should have done it earlier, but I hadn't thought of it at the time.

Just curious, for the E-11s, are we using the EotE definition or the AoR definition?

  1. In the EotE, the E-11 is a blaster rifle with a folding stock. With the stock folded, it can be used one handed at short range (like a heavy blaster pistol). The stock is extended when firing at more distant targets.
  2. AoR just have E-11s as standard blaster rifles.

Personally, I am hoping for the EotE definition, as that would be providing a bit flexibility to the weapon.

As it stands, only Geoff, CT, and Tookur are unwounded/undamaged. Rax has 10 wounds, while Toco has 6 and Oro has 4. Issan is last with 1 wound.

I'm going to hit Rax with a stimpack first, taking care of Five wounds. I'll then work on Toco and Oro while in transit, which both are at Easy Difficulty.

Does that look good?

I have 1 wound. but of course stimpaks dont work on me.
