Edge of Darkness OOC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

I've set up an affect like that in the IC thread

What range?

At this point, long range

Quick thing: as it stands, Tear would do 1 point of damage to the speederbike, as it has no armor and took 10 points of damage, which translates to 1 Hull Trauma (speeder has 2 HT, I think)

Ooh yeah. See this is what happens when you GM with the rulebook on the other side of the room...

Use the Force!

Oh that old thing

I'm going to hold my action for a while longer. In the mean time, what is the dice pool for trying to heal Toco's critical?

Currently, on my end, I'm looking at three Ability dice, 1 Proficiency die, and one Boost from the CAPC (the CAPC also decreases the difficulty to heal Critical Injuries by one to a minimum of Easy). I believe that is an Easy Difficulty (one Difficulty die), but due to the driving there might be one or more setback dice.

Yeah I'm imposing two setbacks due to the fact you're performing delicate work while being bounced around a cargo compartment. Otherwise it's an Easy check

Makes sense, though in this case it's most likely injecting him with something that will dull the pain and give him clarity.

I'm not a medic or doctor in real life, but my best guess is that it would be a combination of adrenaline and a powerful painkiller, mixed with some focusing drugs to get him through.

Just curious, the CRB says that I only succeed on clearing the Critical injury. What happens to excess Successes and Advantages in this case? Would I be able to use them to heal Toco's other wounds and strain?

With no ruling otherwise, I'd say that you can spend Successes to heal wounds and Advantage to heal strain.

Jaspor, your improvised air mines make my heart happy.

It's a good plan, but I'm imposing the bounds of realism on it

Colonel, maybe you could throw some suggestions at people for actions? Shooting or...?

Well you could try shooting out of the back, helping the others in some way, or if you want to skipping a turn. Even just giving a boost dice to the pilot somehow would be a fair action to take

Think of it like space combat, but not in space and without gun turrets. (We use our own guns.) Things like trying to use the environment to our advantage, using computers to improve our chances or hurt the chasers, perception to help the driver identify obstacles or advantages while he focuses on driving, etc.

Exactly that. We've all seen a few car chases in our time. Even just firing off some snarky remarks at the pilot would probably qualify for a boost dice under cinematic law...

My plan is to get rid of that annoying crit on Toco, then deal some damage to that speeder. After that, probably dose up Rax and Oro from the damage they took.

A single crit really isn't that serious, especially since the one he has doesn't have a lasting negative effect. Also, we're in a vehicle right now and he's unlikely to take damage unless our whole vehicle gets blown up, in which case you'll have more than one person in need of medical attention, lol. ;)

Now me being at 9 of 14 wound on the other hand... Hahaha. :P

I'm kidding, do what you think your character would do. :)

On a separate note, I'm curious of what experience the group has with playing the EotE. I'm approaching 2 years playing now. During that time, I've played two different campaign PCs (three if you count this one), and GM'd for three different groups. I've played both in person, online using Roll 20, and this is my first PbP game.

Currently I'm playing in one campaign as a Duros Doctor (my original PC and still my favorite) and GM'ing a second campaign where the players are the members of a pirate crew. :)

I GMed few Free RPG Day games and went through character creation a few times. Never really played, though.

At this point, anyone taking a shot at the speeder (or helping someone take a shot at the speeder) has a not-insignificant chance of destroying it, if they can manage to do 10 damage.

You know that one of the speeder groups have laser cannons, right?

Hence why I'm suggesting shoot at them before they have a chance to do the same on us :P

Bearing in mind that there's three to a group. But yeah, one has anti-vehicle cannons (taken from the Beginner Game rules)
