Edge of Darkness OOC

By ColonelCommissar, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Trying to persuade Farrow is a Daunting social check, and due to his inebriation I'm flipping a Destiny point, making it CDDD.

Forget it. I'd rather have Geoff be elbows deep in someone's guts than try to convince a primitive of why the Empire is bad entity.

Sorry, it may have been a slightly cynical difficulty setting, but after six weeks of trying to change people's minds over a similar issue I can say that this guy won't be easily persuaded that he's wrong.

Brexit getting you down?

Don't say that word...

Hey guys

Nobody has posted much in a while, which concerns me. What can I do to make things more interesting and appeal to what you want? What are you looking for in this encounter, or should I wrap up and move to the next scene?

Well, Rax isn't really at home in a social setting, and is uncertain if it serves the purpose of the rebellion to try to recruit these people. And he certainly doesn't feel like the right person to debate galactic politics or why people should join the rebellion. Above his paygrade, he would say. So really what he's doing is socializing and trying not to step on his tongue and create difficulties for his superiors.

Fair enough. My laptop is extremely broken at the moment and I'm working off of my phone, but I'll wait to hear from the others before moving fully forward.

Well, since it is a festival in an backwoods village, what about non-combat tests? Shooting tests, hand to hand, heck even a drinking contest or three.

Same goes for Oro.

Internet is out still, this is from mobile. Sorry.

I'm away until Wednesday, at which point I'll move things on unless you guys have done so yourselves.

I am sorry all, but due to some really crappy problems, I am going to have to bow out. Reliable internet isn't a thing for me right now.

Really enjoying this but life requires I step away.

Sorry.

Oh, that's bad news, I'm sorry to see you go :(

My condolences. Hopefully we can keep your character around in case you come back.

Just a note that for the next four weeks I will be on holiday and might not have as much access to a computer and internet as I usually do. I expect I'll be able to post very regularly, but perhaps not quite as fast as I normally do.

Right, I have to make a few points here:

One - I'm concerned that the posting rate has dropped off slightly. I appreciate that this is partly my fault, but I'd still like to provide a general reminder to keep it up.

Two - Tear, I'm genuinely sorry to see you go. You brought an interesting character who you played well and with an interesting dynamic.

Three - Now that we're down to three players, I feel I should check where to go next: I'll look to recruit someone new (this being a good time to bring in a fresh player, as they have an 'easy in' due to the circumstances) but that's only if those who remain are good to continue.

Four - I too have a very intermittent posting schedule coming up. I shan't be in an area of regular internet for two and a half weeks from Sunday, so my posting will be ropey at best - especially since my laptop has been given its last rites. For that, I am sorry.

I hope to hear all of your thoughts.

I am sure the posting rate will pick up. It is summertime, and things tend to slow down a bit. Once we have a better focus on a task at hand I'm sure things will liven up.

I am very good to continue, I like this game and think it would be a shame to have it end after such a good run.

Hey guys.

I have been talking things over with CC. Since we will hopefully be taking on new players shortly I think I would like to use the opportunity to switch characters. I originally took over Rax temporarily. Although he is a fine character, he really isn't my character.

I have a character in mind, a lovely female Twi'lek who is actually a Commander - Squadron Leader, so she has good piloting skill as well as leadership and other people-skills. I think we could really do with a people-person in this group, and she will be able to hold her own in a firefight with a pistol thanks to a decent agility and a rank or two in Ranged (Light).

I would really want the opinion of the other two players before I make up my mind. Is this something you would have a problem with?

Sarone, Jaspor, I'm aware that there may be problems with your posting but as it stands I've been given no reasoning that would leave me to believe that you are anything other than simply not bothered. Kymrel has been keeping up a good post rate, whereas I haven't heard from you in a long while. I'd appreciate some sign as to whether you are even paying attention to the game at all.

I'm paying attention. I check in about 2-3 times a week.

Life is going in dry for me. It also doesn't help that no sooner that I get a few minutes to myself for posting people want my attention.

I'm still here. One big question is what do we do fro bringing in new people? Also, I like the idea of having an actual face for the group.

Good good. I know there is at least one interested applicant who has been in contact with CC.

Since neither of you has any problems with me switching characters, and the GM is fine with it, I'll swap out Rax for Liaka Atala at an opportune moment. Probably at the same time this small cell gets reinforced. Rax will head off to the southern continent where a position has opened up flying an airspeeder. It's not space, but it's one step closer!

Sorry to keep everyone waiting, but I'm negotiating with a couple of new players atm, as well as being in an area with intermittent internet. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

No worries, it will be worth waiting for fresh blood!

So I'll be bringing in a character. I'm thinking military intelligence type character. So I'm building the character as a Sentinel Shadow and then adding on one of the Commander careers though I'm not sure which at present. At present it's a toss up between 3. Commodore, Tactician and Strategist With Strategist I was thinking along the lines of gathering intel for the purpose of battles and troop movement. In that regard I'm also kinda leaning on Worf's role as strategic operations officer on DS9 for inspiration. Being planet bound I think it could have promise. With Commodore and Tactician it's kinda the same basic idea of working his way up through the ranks of military intel, Tactician makes more sense if we remain planet bound but I have a warm place in my heart for Commodre and being called admiral.

Thoughts?
