Edge of Darkness OOC

That's all correct. You can help the team and then be of some assistance, though obviously not as much as if you bypassed them entirely.

In that case, I'll take care Rax's crit and help heal Oro's wounds. In exchange, would one or both of you be willing to help assist me?

Rax has lost the crit. Does he heal any wounds as well (if he does then he will heal one additional wound from Surgeon)?

I'll post Oro's heal check in the IC.

Thanks for that. I think a separate Medicine check is required to first-aid Rax.

Two things:

One - I'm not getting any alerts right now, nor are others so far as I know. This is annoying, and will slow my posting down heavily.

Two - Are you guys waiting on me? Because I'm waiting on you to take the initiative, unless you want me to push you forward.

Same here, no alerts since the Korean spamfest. Rax has volunteered to play doctor's assistant so I'm stuck there for now.

I just posted. I was waiting for some other players to respond.

Medchecks:

Difficulty is at three Difficulty, with a Destiny point being flipped. That equates to one Critical and two Difficulty Dice.

Questions:

  1. Besides Oro, will any of the other Medic NPCs be sticking around to assist (nothing against Oro, but a trained medic is better than an unskilled assistant)?
  2. If none are available, would Oro be providing unskilled assistance?
  3. Because these are criticals, would they qualify for the Difficulty decrease from the ECM?

I'm thinking about using one of the Destiny points to help out the dice. Does anyone have a problem with that?

1. You being here has freed up the trained personnel to care for other wounded, so they won't help.

2. Yes he can (he's passing scalpels, mopping brows, and asking "Will he make it doctor?" Standard stuff)

3. They're critically injured (as in the most life-threatening cases) but not suffering from an in-game crit, so no.

Intelligence four, medicine one, plus unskilled assistance Oro, plus the ECM and Medpac. Since the ECM and Medpac offer the same bonus for using them, I will be using the ECM more for diagnostic and monitoring and use the Medpac for supplies (at least the ones that both share).

I'll use a Destiny point for the first medicine check and see how that goes.

Dice Pool: Two Ability Die+ Two Proficiency Die+ Two Boost Die against Two Difficulty Die + One Challenge Die

Gut Wound Medicine Check: 2eA+2eP+2eB+2eD+1eC 6 successes

Six successes, but no Advantages or Triumphs. That should do the work, but it will leave me with no additional help for the next check.

I'll post this result first and add some stuff later on.

Also, how long does it take for Geoff to finish his task?

I don't actually know how long a standard operation of this type takes? Certainly having six successes will allow you to shave a good amount off the usual time, and he's certainly pulled through, but I couldn't comment on the time taken without sounding completely ignorant. A best guess might be three to four hours, (assuming you trimmed about a third off of the full time) but that's a shot in the dark. We'll go with that in the absence of dissenting opinion.

From the IC thread;

"We could just kill him, but I suppose that's not quite in line with the ideology command's always going on about."

I am loving the LT. :D

Amputee Medicine Check.

This one is actually more difficult in a

This interesting. Neutral on the success/failure scale, but gained four advantages. How do you want go about this, CC?

The man is stabilised, but develops a secondary infection. You may make a second check to try to bring him back with a difficulty upgrade, which will put him back into the field just as soon as you source a bionic limb, or alternately the advantage may be used to skip the check, merely keeping the soldier alive until he can safely be invalided out.

Soooo. Nobody want to weigh in on Zavvel's future? Or lack thereof?

Finals week. Have papers to research and type as well as exams to study for. I will do my best to post something this weekend if no one else posts between now and then. Especially the operation for the second critical.

Guess everyone is super-busy :(

I'll second this. You guys have plenty of plot hooks here, and it's really down to you. I can't shepherd you along. Some of you are willing to play ball, or at least give a valid reason, but those who aren't are letting down everyone else.

I feel like we need an affirmative confirmation from everyone that they are still interested in playing.

A direct expression of preference on whether or not to continue the game (as is).

I remain willing to run the game, question is whether everyone is willing to remain. Certainly you've all become rather inactive, and I'm sorry for not kicking everyone into action sooner, but you did all agree to push it forward together.

Personally, I think I am getting a bit burned out with Doc Hanson (it also doesn't help the last few weeks of semester were also burning me out). Plus, there doesn't seem to be much for this "episode" to go.

I am on the fence for what to do and will wait to hear from other before making a final decision.

Although Rax is not the type of character I would normally make I quite enjoy this game and would hate for it to end.

I'm liking this character a lot and would love to continue.

I too would like to see the game continue.

Currently, it looks like three want to continue, one is up to continuing subject to inspiration, and one is getting burned out. Is that a fair assessment of the situation?
