Edge of Darkness OOC

Then what was the point for Omek to be there? To have an ambassador on staff and be worse than useless is a waste of time and resources

He's the designated diplomat, he was always going to be there. However he's an idealist; his world view is fundamentally incompatible with the brutally realist views of Zavvel. He's out of his depth trying to deal with someone who doesn't recognise the existence of a peaceful solution. Tl;dr - he was useless for this situation. Which is why having Issan around is good.

No problem, Rax would have handled things easily. Let me look up the character sheet for Rax real quick to see the extent of his social skills. Oh, wait...

I also think that Rax's argument is a good way to get one more boost out of the deal. Having someone who is more than willing to fly into the jaws of death has to count for some people. Especially for anyone that saw the damage done to The Brick and heard Tookur's testimony.

You've already had one extra. You should have made these arguments before the roll went against you, not after.

I already had Rax's argument as basically an example of his unskilled assistance. I'll roll that extra boost for the evidence now, but the best it can do is give us more advantages.

EDIT: Compelling a Change in Loyalty (Evidence Boost): 1eB 1 success

So, 1 failure, 2 advantages.

True.

Can't blame me for trying. I normally try to go for as many bonuses as feasible, especially for social encounters.

So, we had the "Protector of Concord Dawn" situation. Not surprising.

So a failure but less so. Ah well, you can't stop the passage of destiny now...

Guess I'm going to be gunning for that reroll a bit more than before. Twice now my pool has failed me...and I doubt for the last time.

It's never the last time.

Well at least he's not choking the GM...

Try bribing them. I understand that works better than this ancient religion.

Well at least he's not choking the GM...

Hard to blame you when I'd do the same thing if I was GMing.

I'd try to account for as many variables as possible, especially since the group I am GMing for is mostly fighters.

That being said, I missed several important clues to something going on that I totally missed.

I'm just curious, which should have been covered earlier, but did Docotr Cohlen take all of the wounded with her?

I'm also surprised that Lieutenant Braxus didn't say anything, since we still had comms with him and the Cavalry.

Also: I'm still carrying one of the demo charges. Shall we use that?

All the wounded went with the non-combatants.

That reminds me - when was the last time Jaspor or TitchFender posted on here?

Titch was a few days ago. Jaspor is a good question, though.

@Titch: What do you want to do, man? I'm assisting Tear with targets and shooting, and medical once the wounded start coming.

I'm afraid it may be the low eons.

*Sigh* I feel a messaging may be in order...

Also, if the wounded left with the non-combatants, that is a good thing.

Next question: Besides the players, Omek, and Somaal, who else do we have on our side?

Ironically, the Imperials, who are drawing fire away from you. Likewise, the Rebels coming out of the tunnels are also drawing fire. But in this combat it's just you guys versus the world...

My gut tells me we should find a way to get rid of Zavvel, and then focus on the Imperials. Once they're dead, maybe we could try and convert the survivors? Granted, they may just be pissed that their boss is dead, and I don't know how to deal with that.

No time to talk tactics now. The poodoo has really hit the ventilation system...

So Lt Braxus and his forces are not in play. That is good.

Already planned for. They might be pissed, but you did roll quite a few advantages. While you might have failed to get them from joining you while Zavvel was alive, him being removed might change their minds.

Parley's objective is to get out of there. Breach team will provide cover fire and support.

To answer that:

1. Braxus' team are coming out of the tunnels, but at the moment they are in the upper office block only and have not yet opened fire.

2. The advantage is going towards a narrative effect

The tunnel behind us, right? Because them coming out in the vehicle bay is a bad idea.

Tactical assessment: Warehouse is a bust. Only thing we can do is try and grab as much gear before we go to asset denial. Luckily, we have the right tool for the job.

What does everyone think?

catching up on what been posted in each. just caught up here, going to catch up IC now.

I'm around. Oro has just been sharpening his knife while all the chit chat was going on. ;P

I'll catch up on the IC stuff now.

Toco is opening fire on Zavvel. Flipping a destiny point and assuming I have 2 aim actions stacked.

Medium Range? Zavvel have any modifiers?
