Scum build

By Mrmrsd, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I am looking at a new build for scum. I tried this tonight and had a great time flying it. I puts out a lot of damage if you can get the three ships shooting at the two ships with the less agility it could pull the shields and hull apart quickly. This build did well at pulling two b-wings and a k-wing, took a lot of damage and lost the YV-666. It then tore apart a Boba Fett and scyk list without issues.

It struggled and finally lost against a manglered Dash with Tycho. How can I make this list more survivable? It puts out the damage, but the single evade of the YV-666 did nothing to stop the damage from hitting. Any ideas? This was a fun list to fly so I will be coming back to it often.

N’Dru Suhlak with Lone Wolf sound great on paper but some how he always ends up at range to of a friendly and cant use it :)

I do agree about N’Dru Suhlak and lone wolf, but if you already have to be outside of range 2, might as well use it. Staying outside of range 1-2 did not sound that hard when I created the list. Now fly it, that is not as easy as it seemed in the building of it. I did have to twice fly both ships away from N'Dru to use his missile and then hot shot but the damage it did was well worth the distance out of the fight the other two ships had to go to be far enough away. It will take some time to learn to fly N'Dru but I do like that ships build.

I have this mental block about using Latts Razzi with Weapon's Engineer because the TLs are against different ships. I feel like this would split fire between those two ships with whatever the rest of the list is...

Suhlak is a fun flanker with Lone Wolf, but he really lacks the mobility to whip around to strike at your opponent's flank. It's fine if he is completely ignored, but these days you usually see alt. firing arcs or turrets in many games, so his flank isn't as threatening...unless maybe he has Cluster Missiles. I wouldn't go too far past Cluster + glitter + Lone wolf...the cheaper version being Proton Rockets with Lone wolf at 22 points.

To the original list, the YV-666 really needs to be super light weight in points, or loaded out to be the anchor and get things done. If Latts is just providing support by nerfing enemy ships, that's great, but she should also be dropping some heavy damage down range. You cannot really increase your defense on the YV-666, so you have to boost your offense and punish them for shooting at you with your list and your tactics.

Drop either the concussion missiles or hot shot off N'Dru. He's going to be evaporated in 1-2 turns of combat, and 26 points into a Z95 is gonna sting if he gets one-shot.

The concussion missiles in particular will want to be TL/focus'd and there's a good chance he might never get that opportunity.

If you really want to make the list more durable, swap N'Dru out for 2 Binayre Pirates who can babysit Latts. With K4, you don't care if you're bumping into your Zs. More importantly, it lets you keep your fleet together and protects/slows your YV.

Good to have the Z-95 protection, but bumping consistently still doesn't let you position properly to get around obstacles when you need to and also negates the other action you would normally get, which is actually a big chunk of personal damage for Latts. It doesn't matter as much with K4, but still matters enough.

Oh I'm not saying bump at all costs, but bumping is a very effective defensive tactic for YVs without EU. The more you bump, the harder it is to get behind you. It's the same reason as to why the 0 maneuver is so necessary. And much like Shuttles, once enemy ships get behind you, it's pretty hard to shake them without EU.

Yeah, EU is pretty clutch...I think if the YV-666 is going to be more competitive it will need to have it...or at least Hot Shot Blaster to cover that blind spot for a turn.
