Expansion packs for the New Base Set.

Really? Even if you dont get the crits, I would have expected being able to guarantee 3 hits at range 1 with a tie fighter would be prett good.

It was just a bad matchup, Chewie flipped down 6 crits!!!!

My List:

100 points Pilots ------

Backstabber (16)

“Omega Ace” (23) TIE/FO (20), Push the Limit (3)

“Zeta Ace” (23) TIE/FO (18), Weapons Guidance (2), Push the Limit (3)

“Deathrain” (38) TIE Punisher (26), Advanced Sensors (3), Extra Munitions (2), Seismic Charges (2), Cluster Mines (4), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)

My Opponent:

List 1:

98 points Pilots ------

Torkhil Mux (25) HWK-290 (19), Twin Laser Turret (6)

4x Binayre Pirate (14) Z-95 Headhunter (12), Feedback Array (2)

Binayre Pirate (17) Z-95 Headhunter (12), Proton Rockets (3), Feedback Array (2)

List 2 (he knew my list but it was cool):

100 points Pilots ------

Jake Farrell (28) A-Wing (24), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Chardaan Refit (-2), Push the Limit (3), Autothrusters (2), Veteran Instincts (1)

“Blue Ace” (29) T-70 X-Wing (27), BB-8 (2)

Chewbacca (43) YT-1300 (42), Veteran Instincts (1)

Game 1: Punisher dominated the fly swatters while the FO and Backstabber took down Mux, tabled him 100 - 0.

Game 2: Punisher closed off lanes with mines, it took until ~ turn 5 for Jake and Blue Ace to get back into game. During this time I was shooting with everyone at Chewie but he kept flipping all the crits down!!! Chewie killed Backstabber and Jake and Blue Ace got back into the fight and killed Omega Ace. Punisher dropped his last seismic charge and killed Chewie and Blue Ace. We ended the game with the Deathrain and Zeta Ace dogfighting with Jake, it could have gone either way but it was late. I don't think weapons guidance was worthwhile on Zeta Ace w/ PTL.

I fully agree that it would make sense to add the T-70 and TIE/fo. I was just thinking what the next would be. However, depending on how tight they want to maintain secrecy about what else is in the movie, we may or may not see anything else before the theatrical release.

They could do a tie special forces, with rear and fore firing arc. With Phasma as a pilot, and other random no name pilots. That wouldn't spoil much more than the Poe Dameron card in the starter. We know phasma is in the movie and we know she is a higher up, we just don't know what she pilots (if anything at all). And it wouldn't be too spoilery to have a Poe Dameron version 2 in a black X wing....thats not very spoilery as there are already toys of him and that X wing on the market to buy right now. We also already know that there is an X wing squadron known as the black squadron. Honestly the pilot cards literally reveal nothing about the plot of anything, they are just there for stats and the name. If anything could be spoilery, it would be any missions included in the kit...so they'd have to be more careful with that.

I wish the T-70 and TIEFO would hurry up and be released so that I can put in my MM order to get it over $99... I don't know how much patience I will have for too much longer, and I might have to just order 2 core sets and pay the 6 bucks.

I wouldn't do two core sets. You likely don't need all the extra stuff and there is a measly 5 upgrade cards and 2 of them are unique (and one is protons  )

I'm struggling to imagine a situation in which FFG releases a blister for a ship they've already designed (so it's simply designing new pilots and upgrades) under duress.

LFL has forced content into games before. That's how we got Episode I stuff in SWCCG.

The good news is that Disney is now in charge of Lucasfilm. Disney is a company which has proved itself to understand that if a property is treated well, it can be profitable forever. They know how to care for a cash cow, and that the metaphor involves milk instead of steak.

FFG has shown itself to make toys and games which are very respectful of Star Wars. FFG's toys actually make people into more rabbid Star Wars fans. That's significantly more important to Disney than a mere cash in.

So: while Disney may well "force" FFG to create stuff based on specific movies and shows, I'd guess they don't actually dictate anything that would interfere with the quality of the games themselves.

It may well be that FFG went to Disney and asked to be part of the Episode 7 stuff. The people who run FFG are, um, giant freaking nerds. Being even a small part of Star Wars history must be awesome.
