seriousely a "Rogue Squadron' pack" filled with the remaining pilots (wouldn't even need extra ships) that we dont have yet and the others as well but with some kind of heightened pilot skill level and syngery bonus the more you use them together in a squad. kind of like the IG.. Of course I sound like a broken record but think that would be really cool!!!

Those threads would be wrong. Open or closed the engines are already on the same vector.
a rag-tag group of farmers and smugglers are more coordinated than a bunch of clones trained from birth to work together as a cohesive unit? Don't think so.
Considering they are NOT clones, I would venture that just they have more corridination through communication.
Even with the EU being redacted, new canon states that the storm troopers are not clones, as they all suffured from clone sickness in the 30 years between the movies and were phased out of commision, eventually replaced with humanoids from the across the galaxy.
Dont believe me? read the new book. even with its terrible writing, it still shows that the troopers are not clones, clear as day.
I'll take your word for it as I have not read it. I still stand by my belief that a trained military has more inherent organizational structure than a rebel group.
Typical Imperial arrogance.. Underestimating the coordination of the Rebellion has cost you two Death Stars and yet you still have not learned ![]()

Clones have weakened minds... which is why they are susceptible to Jedi mind tricks...

why cant people get that through their brains?

Because they are inbred nerf herders.

Ease off the caffeine there guy. Just because you can chug Red Bull by the gallon doesn't mean you should.
I believe a bigger Astromech selection and a simple title are answers to help the original X-Wing. I would like to see a Rogue Squadron title that is one point and adds the barrel roll action or a zero point title that lets you switch pilot abilities with a nearby pilot within range one (maybe one to two) at the beginning of the Combat Round...essentially a decoy of sorts for pilot abilities.
Title
Rogue Squadron - 1 Point
Your action bar gains the (Barrel Roll) icon.
Title
Rogue Squadron Leader - 0 Points
Unique
At the beginning of the Combat Round you may switch your pilot ability with another friendly ship at range 1-2.
BB-8 is awesome and definitely a step in the right direction. FFG designers get it...which is awesome...we just have to be patient and wait for what they have already had designed for a long time and have not yet been able to release.
I want to see a thematic upgrade. I like the idea of more astromechs because that brings you right back to the movies and the books where the astromechs often saved the day.
I also think it would be great to get something that makes Proton Torpedoes easier to take on them since it's so thematic. Now that the T-70 is on the scene, I think getting torpedoes to work well on T-65s would be a great iconic fix, since we all remember Luke's X-wing blowing up the Death Star with proton torpedoes. What about a title that makes it so you don't discard torpedo upgrades when you fire them?

Great idea. Would fix not only the T-65, but also proton torpedoes (on one ship at least).
Edited by gribbleI feel that last thing we need is more astromechs. Those won't solve the t65 problem. It will just make other ships able to take a mech (y-wing and t70) more ideal.
Well the good thing is that we do have sub factions. So we can easily restrict a X-Wing only title to the Rebel Alliance.
I would like to see something different than just a barrel roll. Perhaps a barrel roll that uses the 1 turn template.

And cue Lt. Lorrir crying.
I'd love to see a jousting mechanic for t-65s, something like Graz but not shity
Remember A new hope? All the wings that went down got shot from behind (and the ys too, but they don't need a fix)
It would also incentivize ties to use SWA tactics and overwhelm xwings instead of being more maneuverable AND better jousters
Plus, being strong on the joust and weak otherwise gives us perfect excuse to shout "I CANT SHAKE HIM!"
Edited by ficklegreendiceAdding Boost or Barrel Roll to the T-65 for a point won't help it. If you want a 22-point 3-attack dice Rebel jouster with a repositioning action there's something already filling that role, and it's already more efficient than the X-Wing in raw numbers.
To be honest, adding Boost/BR to the X-Wing for FREE almost definitely won't help it. It's a jouster that can't joust. It needs its offensive or defensive efficiency boosting if it's going to return to anything approaching prominence. Personally, I'd choose to increase its offence, because a) the B-Wing and T-70 exist and are very durable so let's fill a niche that's currently empty on the Rebel side for a glass cannon fighter and b) sod making Biggs any harder to kill than the bugger already is.
So, the hell with it. Let's give the X-Wing another attack die. Or something that guarantees 3 hits a la Accuracy Corrector. Let's give it some flipping teeth.

Straight up giving it another attack die would be way too powerful. I don't disagree that it needs an offensive or defensive boost but 4 attack at 21 points.....not even the phantom is that OP, it has to cloak as an action to boost defense and then it cannot attack that turn.

How about an extra attack die and/or re-roll on torpedoes? Ties into the suggestion by Budgernaut, and makes both the X-wing and torpedoes more relevant (at least for one ship).

I like the idea of a title that allows one secondary weapon dice to be rerolled (even if it has already been once using target lock) paired with this guys idea for torpedoes (although scrap the PS requirement).
..... For the rogue squadron card it should only be allowed on pilot skill ships of 5 or greater and give a -4 cost to torpedo upgrades. This allows the xwing pilots to remain a deadly option with plenty of tricks up their sleeves, and allow the use of the iconic prton torpedo in gameplay in devastating Rogue style alpha strikes......

I'm all for it. It's still not as durable as the B Wing and lacks the close range maneuverability, as well as the option to take a HLC, but it hits very hard in a front-on joust, which is what it's supposed to do.
Hate to say it but the best fix might just mean a pt reduction. You dont wanna step on toes and make them the same. So the orginal xwing to me should be a cheaper version you can use as more of a filler.
Its gotta compete with the new X as well as the B. To me, cheaper would be the best fix.

If you reduce the point cost and take 5 rookies the tie swarm will suffer even further.
Maybe they should buff the X-wing and nerf the B-wing, they did it to the phantom after all.....

Maybe they were using Expose? ![]()
One option for the extra attack die would be something similar to expose, but combined with outmaneuver in reverse, but not take up your action. for example:
Title
Rogue Squadron
When defending against enemy attacks outside of your firing arc roll one less agility die. Once per round, after performing a Focus or Target Lock action you may increase your attack value by 1 until the end of the round.
Works to improve jousting and also benefits Proton Torpedoes.
I think the defensive fix is probably best though, but the problem is that Biggs might become a little too powerful. Keep the ideas coming!

Honestly, I think the only solution is to make the T-65 better, not cheaper.

You remember that time those two b wings went to a tournament with a 14 point initiative bid and won... Yah I don't either.
