Which preview are you eager for?

By Tranenturm, in Star Wars: Armada

I know a lot folks were real excited for the ISD, but I just can't wast for the Scum pack. I want more squadron tools! Particularly looking forward to the rebel side as that's my preferred faction. How much the YT-1300 generic will be with its escort and counter-1 will be interesting. I'm not that excited for Jan Ors, but do think she'll be very useful (just not exciting to me).

What preview are you excited for?

Most excited to buy: ISD

Most excited to see a preview of? The MC80. Once we get that info we can start practicing for the Sullust tournament final round.

Actually I'm very very interested in the Shrimp Frigate. Rebels, for me, have been about small ships and hit-and-run attacks, with lots of squadrons. :)

MC30c, MC80, Scum and Villany. That's all the packs.

I really want to see what the MC30 brings to the table.

Since I already know everything I want to out of the Rogues and Villians pack (Jan), I'm dying for the MC80. I see it as the most critical to my builds from wave 2 on. I'd bring the MC30s along in a boardside focused build with Ackbar, but I don't see them in a squadron heavy build. The MC80 I see in both, therefore I need the MC80!!!

I'm looking forward to the Raider. I'm hoping for something to buff the TIE Advanced ;)

Calmari Cruiser thats what im waiting for:)

Gotta get past the wall of Gladiator lists to get to Top 2 tho :) Which as Rebel's is very hard to do in the current Meta - I don't think a reliable Anti-Glad list has been found yet.

Super star destroyer;)...mc80 after that...i want the falcon but dont really care for the others..not sure what wave 3 will bring but pretty content with what we are getting in wave 2...could use transports and a lambda shuttle too..

Can't wait to learn more about Grand Admiral Ackbar's flagship! I hope they save the Mc-80 preview for a bit though, because it will be hard for the Raider and Mc-30 to hold up.

MC30. I really want to know the point costs so I can start thinking about builds. Rogues and Villains pack and any squadron specific upgrades after that to start thinking about how to use them more effectively.

Really anything, can't wait til we get our hands on this stuff in Oct!

ALL THE PREVIEWS!!!

Ditto. I've always preferred frigate swarms to big ship heavy fleets in any setting and game system combos where that strategy is viable. though I'll probably get and occasionally use a single MC80.

MC80, so I can finally have a Rebel ship of the line to go with my NebB's and CR90's, since I skipped that ugly Space Guppy and all.

I know that the ISD and MC80 can only be great so I'm more excited with what they're gonna do with the MC30 and the Raider.

Definitely the MC30. I love the look as much as I love the Nebulon-B, and I'm anxious to see what they cost because I still (quite stubbornly) try to shoehorn Nebulon-Bs into my lists even though it does not really mesh with my play style.

Back in April, I would have said MC80, but I'm 100% excited about the shrimp now!

All of them, but if the question is 'which am I most eager for', it's the MC80. All other paddleboats, sloops, dingies, and frigates exist solely to support the true ships of the line; for when the fate of the battleships are decided, the fate of the battle is likewise decided. Now, has anyone seen my bicorne hat? It would be simply scandalous if the servants show up to polish my boots and I don't have that hat!

Seriously though... who's the Raider's commander? That might be my biggest question right now. We didn't get Piett with the ISD like I thought we might (we did get Needa, and I'm overjoyed about having mister-responsibility in my fleet) but who is left aside from him, Ozzel and Daalia?

That's assuming that we can't count wave 3's preview. That's not allowed, right? Just wondering, because I'm not sure where they'll go from here.

Was the ISD. It's now the MC80. The ISD preview was awesome and got me really interested in the Wave two stuff. I tend to play Rebels rather than Imperials so I'm interested to see what tricks the Rebels get to counter the ISD.

The Nebulon-B is my favorite original trilogy ship class so I put it in every rebel fleet I build for every game that includes it, both tabletop and PC/Console unless I have to earn the right to build it and then its in every fleet I build after doing so and unlocking it is at the top of my to do list when I play the game., That said the MC30C is one of my favorite ship classes introduced in Star Wars PC/Console games, and an ancestor of my favorite ship class introduced in a Star Wars comic so it will appear in every fleet I can put it in as well.

I want to see the MC80. And I'm wanting to know if Rebels will be more supportive in squadrons in this wave. I still think it's slightly odd this game jumped into some of the Rouges and Villan figure we would see more Squadron variants like E-Wings, Z-95's other elite pilots....I'm not complaining just figured we would have seen those first before access to Melinnium Falcon, Outrider, slave1 and his bounty hunter friends. It's all good I'm excited to field the Melinnium Falcon in games.

I'm looking forward to the MC80 now, just because by comparison to the ISD we should get a good feel for how the two fleets will be matched going forward.

Seriously though... who's the Raider's commander? That might be my biggest question right now. We didn't get Piett with the ISD like I thought we might (we did get Needa, and I'm overjoyed about having mister-responsibility in my fleet) but who is left aside from him, Ozzel and Daalia?

My soul needs Admiral Daala in this game.

It wouldn't seem quite right for her to be "only" an officer, but I do really like having to make a decision between a commander version of a character vs. their officer/squadron version. As you mentioned, Admiral Piett is missing and surely needs to come before her anyway, so I guess I wouldn't mind including her as an officer for now just to get her on the table. That all being said, I think the Rebels are ripe for dual role characters! I would love to see commander versions of Wedge or Leia, and a squadron version of Lando... Of all the tricks that I hope FFG keeps up their sleeves, a Lando YT-1300 card in rogues and villains would make me happier with them than I ever thought possible.

I think it will be like the Nebulon-b: no commander in the box.

I absolutely and unreservedly agree, Dusksong. Daala being 'only' an officer is just based on the trend with Isard and Wulff (though Motti is the odd one out there, I guess he was the Admiral though). I'll still admit, I thought we would see Piett as an admiral instead of Vader, and Ozzel instead of Needa (though like I said, I'm not unhappy about that).

I think you nailed my thoughts down as to regards to rebels, word for word. :P Lando for the YT-1300 would make that expansion for me, hands down. As of right now, I'm not tremendously excited about the R&V set.

That could be true Purple Squadron, FFG has changed their tune somewhat.

"Whether you field your pre-painted miniature as a Raider I-class Corvette or Raider II-class Corvette, the Imperial Raider Expansion Pack offers you plenty of ways to customize it for battle with either squadrons or capital ships. Among its eight upgrade cards, you'll find Ordnance Experts, a new commander, Quad Laser Turrets, two unique titles, and more."-FFG, Here they Come!

compared to

"In addition to its pre-painted, small-base Raider miniature, this expansion introduces eight upgrade cards, a command dial, speed dial, and all requisite tokens."-FFG, current excerpt

I just hope the Here they Come article is accurate and we do see a new commander.
