A lot of people seem to think that TLT's work best in groups of 3+ due to their ability to cover their gap. I have had similar poor results when using pairs of TLT Y's in 100-point lists.

I've been having really solid results using a Goldie with ion cannon, title and R3-A2. I fly it just slightly behind the TLT Y(no title). Any soontir or Corran or Han that wants to boost into range one of the TLT is signing up for 2 stress and possibly an ion token. I've found the results to be significantly better than pairs of TLT Y's.

I've used Corran or 3 A's or 4 Z's to fill, but you could use just about anything with either high efficiency or solid closer characteristics.

I think if you drew your opponent into a chase, and then you 'surprise' K-Turned the stress hog while other ships did their 3 banks it might help. If a Soontir got double stressed then he'd be tokenless next turn for a TLT volley.

I think a Rebel Operative HWK with Jan Ors Crew is a good idea also.
