Is there a list for the new damage deck anywhere? Mine came with seven Direct Hits. Is that right???
New Damage Deck
The old deck had seven as well.
The new damage decks are also numbered 1/33, 2/33, etc. Just make sure you only have one of each number.

Ah, thanks! Never realized there were always seven. Learn something new everyday! lol
I knew there were seven because I always seem to draw the **** things...
Is anyone going to publish images so we can proxy the deck?

This link has 24 of the 26 cards that aren't Direct Hit. Which 2 are missing, I don't know*.
*The picture with only one copy of each of the damage cards in it is just giving you a better look at cards already shown.
Bell of lost souls had an unboxing that article that included a decently high res picture of the whole deck.
If things go according to plan, I will have an article there this week that analyses the new deck and compares it with the old.

Thurst control fire.
Some wording is different, but its pretty much the same as the old.
It doesn't have pictures but this is a list of all the old and new cards.
Have they mentioned how the damage decks are supposed to be used in tournaments? I'm assuming you can pick whichever one you want to use, but it would be nice to see something in writing.

They tell you if you have the new one to use that one instead. However there is no real enforcement so even if you did get the Episode 7 you could still play with no Ressistance/1st Order models and still use the old damage deck.
Depending on your build you may want to go with the new one. Looking at the damage decks sure critical effects will have an application more often but they don't remove any abilities or discard any upgrades. Super Dash will be able to easily take a critical hit or two. Many cards got nerfed like damaged sensor array now is fixed on a crit or a hit instead of only a hit, and blinded pilot will get flipped at the end phase of the next turn regardless if there was a possible attack or not.
However critical effects won't completely wiff as they used to like a munitions failure on Soontir Fell or a injured pilot on a Blue Squadron pilot. So more effects but less permanent effects. There still is the all turns are red and of course seven direct hits but all the other effects seem to be able to go away. Ships that use Cannons and Turrets (like Super Dash) will be less affected by critical hits then they were before. Ships like Academy pilots will no longer have a freebie when a critical hits comes into play.

Well they can't force anyone to buy the new core as it isn't a new edition and there's no way to prove someone owns it unless they are flying the new ships so people will stick with the old deck.

even then it's perfectly possible that a player could have borrowed a miniature from a friend or bought one from someone who has split a pack.
Owning an Ep VII mini is no guarantee that a player will own the new damage deck
well they could require the new deck in the future but i bet many folks would complaign!! i mean just like folks complaigned that wanted to use rebel Ys for scum Ys.. etc... If they sold a deck only that might ease the pain a bit..lol but don't see that happening. I would say that both sides should use the same decks though.

No, but they can't but they can make it a requirement in competitive play. All they have to do is update the competitive play rules to include the latest damage deck and the episode 7 core set is now a requirement.
Now they haven't done that yet, but why make a new damage deck if you don't make it a requirement to play? Eventually the old one will no longer be allowed in competitive and premier events. When will this happen? How much longer do we have with the old damage decks? Who knows, that's like asking what will come out in Wave 11. It will happen the old one will be phased out in favor of the new one.

Just make the new deck one of the participation prizes at the next few rounds of tournaments and the problem's solved.

Only if they give it to all players at the door at the start of the event.
Also with participation prizes you have to admit that is a lot of cards ever in a tournament kit. If you look at kits they have a very low token/card count, mainly to make them more valuable to players, but also to keep production cards for tournament kits low. Now also if they do that they would have to have a different design from the Episode 7 ones to make sure they don't get mixed up with the other damage decks as well as make them distinctive as tournament prizes much like all other tournament prizes.
They said it will be required for tournament play as of January 1 2016. This was stated, and confirmed by multiple witnesses yesterday at the Nova event.

Thanks for the heads up on this.
Since the cards are numbered, the pain could easily be avoided by release of a free pdf that details the changes. Draw a card from the old deck, check the card number against the chart to see if there are any changes, and apply the modified effect. Relatively simple, and almost painless.
What do you do about the completely new cards, though?
He is implying you would use the card's number to declare which card it is, not what's written on it.
