Rebel TLT Lists please!

By BCooper85, in X-Wing

If anyone would like to list what they've been using that would be much appreciated, the more I think about it the more confused I'm getting!

Four gold squadron pilots

all with TLT

all with R2 units

I shredded an imperial list with it earlier this week, lost one Y wing on the opening exchange but after that you whittle most things down as you're doing about 2 damage a turn on average. (well i seemed to be, it might be closer to 1.5 mathematically)

I was flying against bombers and tie advanced so not the most optimal oponents.

But if you keep them in formation they cover each others R1 'hole' and the R2 gives you a bit more stress shedding options

Comes in at bang on 100 points.

I thought it would be really boring to play but it actually wasnt as i usually fly interceptors so it was a total change of gaming style. Wouldnt want to play it too often though.

The only real 'skill' in playing it is making sure that you dont actually block the enemy too much or get too close.

The other rebel TLT list i played this week, and again this was to 'playtest' new cards was

Miranda, proton torps, connor net, extra muntions, jan ors, TLT, advanced slam

Esegi, proton torps, connor net, extra munitions, recon specialist, TLT, advanced slam

Basically you jet about dropping a total minefield then use the stupidly manouveably slam feature to get out of arc while using the advanced to gain a target lock to set you up for a shot next turn with TL plus focus, getting double focus from the recce spec, which you can then swap about a bit and jan can make them evades if you're in the doo dah

Won with that list too, again against bombers and advanced.

Flew against four Rebel Operative HWKs with TLT and a Z-95 last night.

I've never been scared of HWKs before. Beat it, but it was very touch & go.

I'm thinking an E2 Blue Squadron with Jan Ors crew, and 3 TLT Rebel Operatives with Recon Specialists. Whatever starts to take damage starts converting a focus into an evade to ditch some damage.

Yeah Hawkstrike, I should have spread them out more. Good game, I think Super Poe will be a solid play in the TLT meta. I could see him with 3 Blue Squadrons being good.

I reckon this would give me a chuckle or two

Horton Salm (31) Y-Wing (25), Twin Laser Turret (6)

Kyle Katarn (30) HWK-290 (21), Twin Laser Turret (6), Recon Specialist (3)

Roark Garnet (27) HWK-290 (19), Twin Laser Turret (6), Jan Ors (2)

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)

I don't know how long TLT spam'll last. The Fat Turret is dull to play against but with all the arc dodging you've got to do it's pretty fun for the player using it, especially managing the escorts. TLT spam, however, is dull to play as. It remains to be seen how the desire for victory will balance the desire for enjoyment.

A K-Wing with Jan could be used as a Timbit for the doughnut hole. Same point costs and turreted.

I've had fun running 4x Y-wings with Ions with and without titles. And I have had success with BTL-A4 Horton with TLT. might give 4x BTL-A4's with TLT's a whirl. might get lucky at extreme ranges... :)

or use a revamped 2Y-Wing 2HWK list with TLT's would be adaptable to scum too.

Personally i think you're better with Y wings than HWKs

Better dial on a Y (with an r2) from memory

You've not really got the points to make the HWKs excel with crew or upgrades

Lots more hit points on the Y , critically (no pun intended), shields

PS isnt that much as an issue as you're not worrying about your arc and positioning, you just need to be in range and weather the first salvo which isnt too hard with 8 HP per ship

Yep you could squeeze in a Z95 but i think i'd rather have 32 HP of Y wings cruising about myself

1x Biggs

3x Rebel Operative + Recon Specialist + TLT

If you'd rather place your faith in hitpoints and unmodified attack rolls:

1x Biggs

3x Gold Squadron Pilot + R2 Astromech + TLT

It's not Rebel but I'm considering the list below. Autoblaster turret to cover the donut hole, and PS4 to out-bid other TLT lists. Why scum? Because I don't have four Rebel Grey Squadron cards!

==================
Have Guns, Will Travel
==================
100 points
Hired Gun (26) x 3
Y-Wing (20), Twin Laser Turret (6)
Hired Gun (22)
Y-Wing (20), Autoblaster Turret (2)
My Rebel choice looks more like this (with the two Grey cards I have), and trades one TLT for some auto-crit action in case of Soontir, Corran, or named Phantoms.
=====================
Roark's TLT Squadron
=====================
100 points
Roark Garnet (25)
HWK-290 (19), Twin Laser Turret (6)
Gray Squadron Pilot (27) x 2
Y-Wing (20), R2 Astromech (1), Twin Laser Turret (6)
Lieutenant Blount (21)
Z-95 Headhunter (17), Advanced Homing Missiles (3), Deadeye (1)
