Assuming that a scum aces pack is likely to be coming down the line at some point in the future, what do you think/hope it will include?

My guesses/wishlist:

M-3A in the tansaari point colour scheme, possibly with a new M-3A only cannon (range 1-3, 4 dice, spend a focus to attack maybe, low points cost - could be heavy blaster cannon) to solve the cost problem, given you can't use a title to fix the Heavy Scyk. Possibly an alternative 0pt title for the currently title-less variant, giving an EPT or Illicit slot.

Star Viper, but not sure what colour scheme. I'd like to see an alternative 0pt title that increases their PS, which should help out the generics without making the named pilots too powerful, and/or a torpedo option (intake vents, maybe) that gives them more green options.

Well there is no question in mind that out of all the Scum ships the MA-3 Scyk needs the most help.

However in a similar post before I mentioned that Epic packs are starting to come with previously released small ship models with alternate paint schemes and that every (primary) faction is getting 2. So You could reasonably expect 3 or 4 of the S&V ships to be getting new pilots and a model with an alternate paint scheme. Which one will it be and in what pack, is a good question.

There is also the question on how will these ships be fixed. The MA-3 Scyk already has a title which has always been the first place to look for in ship updates and fixes (Royal Guard TIE, A-wing Test Pilot, TIE-x1).

Anyone think Scum Aces may be more similar to most wanted than the other aces pack? I mean obviously the fighters will get some love so it will be Scyk, Star Viper or Khiraxz (hope it's the Khiraxz as the only thing I dislike about it is the paint job, I'm not into purple on my spaceships). But what about the YT-1300 and 2400 or the base model for the Ghost? Technically these freighters are far more likely to be found among the ranks of the scum and villainy than rebels, it's just that 2 very famous ships of these models have fought for the rebellion.

Seriously Alex just mentioned they are going to address the mess that is the lovable Scyk, in his interview at GEN CON.

He also mentioned the TIE Advanced and two weeks later we got the new TIE Engine upgrade, with a Defender pictured on the card.

The Star Viper needs more options too.

I would like to see the Scyka and the Viper ina Scum Aces pack.

But Scum needs so much more than just an Aces pack. They are so far behind on Pilots its not even funny.

They will be 14 unique and 4 generic pilots behind the Rebels and 17 unique and 9 gereic pilots behind the Empire after the release of wave 8 and the new core set.

And if the two remaining SKUs are indeed the stand alone expansions for the two new fighters from the new core set that will inscrease the gap even further.

What about a Black Sun Aces pack. With 2 new uniques and 2 new generics for both the Scyk and Khiraxz and give them Black Sun paintjobs.

In addition to that you could keep a Black Sun Star Viper in there as well with thwo new unique pilots.

That would offer 6 new uniques and 4 new generics. It would get the split down to 8/0 and 11/5.

The Black Sun should of had Vigos... just look at all of them cool villains!

Scyk and Viper, except I'm worried they're not worried about the Viper yet - though if they've noticed the problem with 'generic E-wings' then maybe they'll note that the Viper's generics will suffer just as harshly. Otherwise, perhaps not. As far as repaints go, I'd love most of all to see a Kithraxz... but they're only barely released. There won't be a repaint of those yet.

I suspect whatever Epic ship comes with an escort will be packing either Scyks or Z-95s. I kinda hope it's the latter - they're in the classic realm of 'great ship, but some more options would be nice'. A couple more elites and a funky new cannon-fodder-friendly illicit would be grand.

A double-scyk? I really hope not. A Scum huge ship with escorting Scyk? Possible... but I'm getting a little fatigued at buying huge ships just to help my fighters out, and the Raider really annoyed me with just how few things it had. Plenty of cards, but only as vast numbers of duplicates, y'know?

While I'm the last person that wants to see factions homogenised, I do like to see packs that provide good value for money (Most Wanted is, in my humble opinion, the best value for money expansion in the game due to the ability to use existing rebel ships). As long as the Scum versions couldn't do what Dash or Han/Chewie does I don't have a problem. I think due to the unique pilot abilities in question and the lack of defensive options like C3-PO and R2, it would be tricky for scum to use the YTs in the same way.

Now, after HWK and Y-wing are fixed by TLTs, I would suggest Scyk and Starviper should have the honour

Scyk some swarm effective pilot or upgrade cards (like a cumulative effect: the more Scyk the cheaper). Or a title that the Scyk upgrade is only neccessary on one Scyk etc. Or the other way round: some synergistic effect (you can distribute damage over other Scyks or you can distribute actions over other Scyks. So the one Scyk who has the best shooting position would get an action from another Scyk (even if bumped previously). They would become competitive again).

For Starviper: Starviper is THE scum arc-dodger ship. I would expect some PS 7 or higher pilots where you can give him VI to push him to PS 9 with a interesting PS ability. Because to be honest, the ability of Xizor is very good, but he is definitively not dangerous enough for the opponent to shoot at him. Therefore his ability fails.

The most wanted pack was a conversion kit in its entirety. It was made to give Scum an instant faction. Now will they do that with Aces who knows.

The could also pull a conversion with an epic pack. So have an epic pack that contains 1 huge ship and pilot cards as well as ship tiles to convert a YT-1300 to a scum faction.

For the Scyk I could see a couple things:
- 0 point M3-A only cannon

- An M3-A only modification that do something like "When you reveal a (left or right turn), you may increase or decrease its speed by 1 (to a minimum of 1).

- A Title that grants a Bomb slot.

Doubt we see YV's. Hasn't everyone been talking about the meta moving away from fat pancakes? What would be the point of just duplicating them with a few new tricks elsewhere?

The Scyk needs some love. I haven't had a chance to play with the Khriaxz yet but I love Guri so I am not sure that the starviper needs alot of help though I don't fly any other starviper so maybe it does. Though they gave the b-wing an ace overhaul so it really could go to any scum ship.

Edit: Also as to scum being down pilots I imagine that wave 9 will be 2 scum ships 1 rebel and 1 imperial which will help catch them up in the ship department. An aces pack and an epic ship that comes with a small base will get them really close to the same amount of pilots as the other two factions; though without a core set I think scum will always have less pilots than either of the other two factions.

Scum Aces should be a stand-alone deck of 20 Autothrusters.

Why would it be better to have a scum version of another faction's ship when I can have a ship that is unique to the faction instead?

If someone can give me a really compelling argument then I'm all for it - but so far one has failed to materialise

I'm literally only talking about the freighters here, I'm not interested in touching any of the other rebel ships or any imperial ships for that matter.

I do understand what you're saying from a gaming point of view but I'll set you a challenge: show me a Fat Han, Chewie, or Dash build using upgrades only available to Scum and Villainy that performs in much the same way as the rebel version. Personally in my (admittedly limited) experience, it would be tricky to build the same type of build using scum cards.

Edit: For the purposes of argument the YTs should be granted the illicit upgrade slot. Not sure how to judge the unknown quantity that would be the pilot ability of the scum version.

Thing is Frostweasel, I see no compelling reason why scum, or Imps for that matter, should have an analogue of the Rebel Fat Pancake builds.

I'm perfectly fine with certain factions having build archetypes that are exclusively their "thing"
