Did Super-Dash just got buffed?

By Marinealver, in X-Wing

So munitions failure and primary weapons malfunction has been merged into 1 card known as Weapons Failure. When Attacking roll 1 fewer attack die. Action: Roll 1 attack die. On a <hit> or <crit> result flip this card face down.

So Supre dash will go from 4 firepower to 3 instead of back to 2. Also this effect can be flipped so unlike munitions failure which was till the end of the match this could be discarded on the next turn.

So did Super Dash just got buffed?

My friend the twin laser turret told me to tell you that Dash is definitely buffed and you should play him constantly and don't worry if you sometimes lose to TLTs that's just bad luck keep trying don't give up what is punctuation

Good change to overpowered crit card.

Both overpowered and underpowered, depending on the target.

There's also no longer a crit that will remove Dash's pilot ability and Elite Pilot Talent upgrade. He fears nothing

I think your friend is referring to Fat Han. But yeah people should keep playing him with C-3PO R2-D2 and the title. :P

The running theme of the new damage deck is that every crit will affect ships more or less equally. No more Munitions Failure on a TIE, no more Injured Pilots on generic B-Wings, no more Blinded Pilot on ships with Accuracy Corrector. Dash is the biggest winner here in that he'll meet his end/the end of the game in roughly the same condition you paid for him to begin in. Also great news for the elite Scum larges. Interestingly, the new deck is also a slight nerf for one of the game's newest cards, Extra Munitions, which was an awesome way of completely ignoring a Munitions Failure (already came up once for me the second time I flew a Punisher.) In general the new crits are more reliably inconvenient while simultaneously being more manageable. All hail the new damage deck.

It's funny how you could consider this a buff. I think more appropriately, all ship weapons now have the equivalent opportunity for nerf when suffering a crit, rather than some ship weapons suffering a nerf, and some ignoring it entirely.

Not really the sky is falling situation you make it out to be.

Nice to read... he was needing a little help.

Cool!

I'm sorry did I put the sky is falling in the topic thread? :o

Nope, I just noticed that well the meta build of Dash (you know the build that won nationals) is going to not be affected by critical hits with the new damage deck as much as the old ones. Sure I get it the whole point on face up damage card wiffing by munitions failure on soontir and injured pilot on a Blue Squadron. However some builds will suffer but others will get better just by nature of changing the core mechanics. I was pointing out a meta shift but if you want.

sky-is-falling-o.gifare you happy now?

So Supre dash will go from 4 firepower to 3 instead of back to 2.

Is that how he used to work? I always imagined if you got munitions failure that Dash with the outrider couldn't attack at all unless he also had missiles.

No because the outrider says while you have a cannon equipped you cannot make primary weapon attacks. When the cannon is discarded you will get your primary weapon back. Of course since the title cost points you don't see it unless a cannon upgrade is equipped. but that would be a thematic effect if it happened.

But now it seems like unless secondary weapons are self-discarding to be used they will no longer be discarded so also a slight buff to cannon and turret secondary weapons as well. Missiles on Super Dash just allows you to either make a missile attack or discard that in place of your cannon upgrade.
