4-player Round Robin with a couple of friends who only have about a dozen games between us. We’ve discovered that our meta consists of of hot or cold dice (no middle ground), forgetting to use abilities and upgrades, and ham-fisting ships in play. Despite these frustrations, it’s been a blast learning the game, coming up with variations of builds, and trying to play catch-up with the rest of the community on here.
Brought out the Scum for the first time in our group and played with 2 boats:
Emon Azzameen
Slave-1 – bomb
Extra Munitions
Prox Mines
HLC
Moralo Eval
Hound’s Tooth
HLC
Outlaw Tech
Intel Agent
I really like the 180 degree firing arc for Moralo’s HLC and pairing the Intel Agent w/ Emon’s flexible bomb drops should make for some fun targeting opportunities with those. Other than that, there is nothing unique about playing these boats and the real challenge is keeping arc-dodgers out from behind me once the bombs are used up.
Match 1 vs:
Han, PTL, Falcon and Engine upgrades, Chewie and Nien Nunb.
Wedge, R2-D2, Expose, Shield Upgrade
Chewie bringing 2 extra hit points had me worried about hitting Han for 15. It’s an equivalent of both a Hull and Shield upgrade for the cost of 4. Wedge is always a pain in the ass – especially when I’m rolling 1 and 0 evade against him in this match.
I lined up in my right, Moralo facing forward and furthest towards the edge, Emon facing towards the right edge and a couple ship lengths to the left of Moralo. Idea was to turn in behind the Hound’s tooth and keep her right on his tail shooting those mines out to the left. He lined up in his left with a straight ahead tactic. I moved slowly and kept away from the rocks in the middle. Han was all ahead full while Wedge peeled off and easily maneuvered through the first couple rocks to try and get closer. We met at range three for the first salvo and he took 3 shields off Moralo while I took 2 off of Han. I chose to pile up and did an all stop w/ Moralo, 1 forward w/ Emon – sacrificing my action in the hopes that Han would be blocked and Wedge would shoot by. Worked w/ Han but Wedge did a soft left for a broadside and ended up on a rock – no action and no shot. I had a shot w/ both HLCs against Wedge. Loki favored both my rolls and he was pulverized. My biggest concern off in round 3. Screw you and your R2, Wedge! Dropped a mine and turned left w/ Emon while Moralo went all ahead forward to clear both Han and the rocks in anticipation of his long, 2-turn, about face. Han cleared the prox mine and gave chase against the Firespray, both of us content to keep moving in that direction and whittling each other down. We both busted through each other’s shields and started in on the hulls. At this point, Moralo completed his 2 round U-turn and had Han lined up. Did a K-turn w/ Emon to finally bring both HLCs to bear at the same time. Dropped Han down to 2 hull and evaded his attempts on Emon. Left a prox mine for Han to choke on and went all ahead full while Moralo did a soft right in to the Falcon’s wake. The mine dropped Han one more and Emon was out of range, forcing him to fire on Moralo for no real affect. Moralo returned fire w/ the HLCs and took the Falcon out of play.
All said and done, this was a quick but fun match. So, what’d we forget this time? Mostly Han’s re-shoot if I remember correctly. WedgeHan was my build and my buddy never once used the boost and didn’t really use PTL until he was chasing Emon through the asteroids. Wedge and R2 were taken out early and could absolutely would have been a pain if he didn't high-center himself on that rock. That was too juicy of a target to pass up and the HLCs and monster dice rolls made short work of him. I’ve just now decided that I should probably just try to take out those shield-regenerating ships in one fell swoop from now on. ![]()
