How was your Force Friday?

By Budgernaut, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I'm putting this in off-topic because I want to hear less about the new core and more about the other stuff.

I lined up an hour before midnight, in costume, at Toys'R'Us. There were about 30 people ahead of me. Interestingly, I heard some people making snarky comments about cosplayers as I was standing in line, and I had to think, "You're buying Star Wars action figures and you're making fun of me for dressing as a Dark Jedi?

By time I got to the action figure aisle, there was 1 Darth Vader and 2 of that security dude whose name I forgot. Fortunately, I was just there to see new things that perhaps hadn't been spoiled, but wasn't planning on buying anything, so no heartbreak here. They did have lots of other stuff that was fun to look at.

On my way out I picked up a $5 Micromachine because the orange X-wing was too cool to pass up and then I got a My Little Pony for my daughter's birthday.

So then, how was your Force Friday midnight?

My wife and I didn't go at midnight, but we hit up the local Target at around 9 am. They still had a large supply of stuff, so we looked at the new Lego sets. I ended up picking up the new core set because they still had 9 remaining. My wife picked up a Darth Vader shirt. I grabbed a X-Wing zipped hoodie. We also picked up some bedding for my son and a Vader light saber light for his room, since his birthday is on Tuesday. It ended up a good trip, and we spent enough money to get $25 off.

Got two core sets from two different Target stores and ordered the BB-8 remote control droid from Sphero.com

Not a bad haul. :)

Couldn't get out until like 5 so I went to three stores and pretty much all the action figures were cleared out. Ended up getting a toys r us black series scout trooper with bike for half off and one of the titanium series.

I went to the midnight Target release. In the end, I waited in line at target for 45 mins for laundry detergent and carpet cleaner.

I had a better friday morning. Picked up the new core and some of the die-casts from Target. The disney store was quite good. Disney Store carries die-cast ships that are twice as large as the ones carried at Target for a mere $10... and the tie fighter one is has metal wings too.

And snagged a bb8 from bed bath and beyond. In store pickup baby! (no 20% off btw, I tried)

Pretty good. Didn't have to stay up late or wait in line; picked up a core set and a cute black & orange micromachine X-wing at a well-stocked Target.

Then got to use the T-70 at Friday night X-wing.

I ate a pizza and played some Gears of War 3.

I know, wild, right?

A bit of a let down in the UK.

Went to TRU, Target, and Wal Mart. All were a bit undesrstocked, particularly on Black Series figures. Didn't really want figures anyway.

Got X-Wing Core Set, Loopin' Chewie, BB8 POP Bobble Head, and the 5 new books (Aftermath & 4 Young Adult novels).

I couldn't get to the city so I went to the local Walmart to find they were out of everything. They didn't even have Rebels season one :(

Wow. Roughly sounds like if you got a core set it was awesome and if you didn't it was a let down. Fancy seeing that trend on an X-Wing forum.

Thanks for your posts.

My wife snagged me Aftermath while she was in the bookstore (1 of 2 left). Played in an 11 team EPIC tournament on Saturday, so my Force Saturday was better, in my case.

Picked up the new core after work on Friday at B&Ns. They had about 3 left.
