This card is going to change how the new TIE and X-wing can be played. The Focus token has become that much more versatile. Add Wired and Weapons Guidance to a TIE and you have a harder to kill and efficient little fighter.

What new list ideas have you come up with around this exciting new upgrade?

Any low PS ship with tech can get some mileage out of it.

TIE/FOs sit on their focus unless they need it to survive and then almost always get two hits.

It's not quite Accuracy Corrector good but it is good.

Esege with Recspec & two T-70s with Weapons Guidance seems promising.

As if anyone ever needed another reason to focus. Already arguably the best action in the game...

With TIEs especially, you just can't afford to miss. You need two red hits every time. This almost ensures it! PTL TIES are going to be a thing too I think. PTL and WG will run 22 points on an Omega. Could only run 4 of them, but they would be tough little buggers to actually hit!

What?!?! Why do you say you don't see much promise in these cards? If you have a bunch of Tie Fighters, this is great. It is especially good for the lower PS ones (as mentioned). You use it on defense if you need to, but then you can use it on offense. You either roll all hits, an eyeball that you use your Focus on, or a blank, that you can still use your Focus on! It makes you have at least 1 hit (but most likely 2) every turn. It's almost Accuracy Corrector.

Ok....not great vs. high agility ships, but great for turning lowly Tie Fighters into more damage dealers.

EDIT: Before I realized that only the new ships can use it, I started to think about Palob on Moldy Crow with Recon Specialist and an Autoblaster Turret.

Same principle; 2 points is a lot to ask and unlike predator there's no way to stack this upgrade with actions (would need recon or kyle)

It guarantees 1 damage on 1 die but at the cost of focus and 2 points

....but if you aren't going to use the Focus anyways....it's more insurance to make sure you do damage in my mind.

It's a nice card but the price makes it hard to swallow since the ships it will work best on are PS ships that need to be kept cheap. If it was a 1 point modification I might be excited about it.

If you have a number of cheap generics, then your opponent is probably going to focus on just one. The other ones don't need it for defense.

Sure, if you roll a blank and focus, then it only turns 1 into a hit. If you roll all hits, you don't need it. BUT.....if you roll a hit and a miss...or two misses...you get to use it. It basically says you will always get at least 1 hit every round.

....but people are willing to invest how many points into Howlrunner to make their Tie Formations work? Instead, they can all take this and leave Howlrunner at home.

This is 2 points, offers no PS increases, and does not stack with focus because it must be used instead of focus' normal benefits (whereas rerolls occur regardless)

Howlie over a PS 1 FO is 3 points; one point more than this upgrade. That's an easy decision if I ever saw one

Except you lose Howlrunner and you lose all your re-rolls. Or...you are forced to fly in formation which is restrictive and predictable. Also takes away the main strength of the Tie Fighter, which is maneuverability.

Of course you use the Focus if you need it, but I've sat there with that Focus unused so often as I roll lots of blanks.

Yeah, I don't see this fitting along with the increased price for the new Ties. I've been trying to figure out good swarms, but I'm a little wary of going to PS1 with these guys and all the TLTs we'll be seeing, and you couldn't fit 6 of the basic Epsilons in there with this either, which'll make the ones you do equip bigger targets.

So far I'm thinking 1 Epsilon at 15, 3x Zetas at 16 each, Epsilon Leader at 19, and then Howlrunner with the Mk.2 Engine to help her keep up for 100 points total.

I could also go for 4 Epsilons, Epsilon Leader, and a PtL Howlrunner to keep her alive, but I just imagine those PS1s dying too quickly.

That's just it! The new TIEs become almost guaranteed 2 hit machines every round for only 2 points. Also, no need to debate over which action is better. The Focus token becomes king with this upgrade. At 17 points for base, you NEED to be rolling two hits every round.

Kind of want to try flying 5x Epsilon+WG+HU Should be a fun small swarm.

Weirdly enough, I think this synergizes really well with Proton Torpedoes.

You still need Target Lock + focus, but proTorps turn one eyeball into a crit automatically. Being able to turn a blank into a hit helps mitigate against the lack of TL.

And since the upgrade works on _all_ attacks, it helps avoid the biggest problem with most munitions fix upgrades: it's useful for more than just the one shot.

I'm not saying this is the thing that makes ProTorps worth 4 points. But it's suddenly worth idly thinking about.

This is great for those times when you have a focus token, and then roll zero eyeballs.

Blue Ace+PTL+WG+Autothruster+R2-D6 could be a lot of fun! 2 turn, then a 1 turn boost = 180 degree turn with no stress!

Not redundant but efficient. Gives you a ton of flexibility.
