Meanwhile, the rules for squad-building have been revised so that you can pair your Resistance and First Order ships with those from the game's other factions:

Because X-Wing doesn't care about where in time the ships and pilots come from just what side they are on. Are they on the protagonist side, the antagonist side, or caught in the middle and doing their own thing is all that matters for squad building.
