... because they're from Episode VII where there isn't a Galactic Empire or a Rebel Alliance. Given that you can play Rebel and Resistance in the same squad (and likewise for Imperial and First Order), it's entirely fluff based and has no mechanical bearing.

One other important fact could be card limitations. For example beside conventional "Imperial only", there could be "First order only" cards. Preventing mixing together specific cards or pilots

I'm trying really hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he's a child or non-native English speaker. Maybe English class wasn't his forte but he's a math wizard. Or maybe he's just an idiot. He could be a senile old man who is also computer illiterate. Maybe he is disabled and can't use his hands so he uses voice to text. I tried too.. but the questions he's asking are almost laser guided to promote a negative response. That and his comments re the power creep removed all doubt for me.

People dislike you because you do this in every thread you comment in.
You ask questions you could easily find the answers to yourself, ignore the replies in favor of even more obtuse questions, get argumentative, and start throwing out completely made up 'facts' and opinions and never accept anything you are told in response.

There are more factions because the new movie that Disney is making has new factions. The Rebel Alliance and the Empire isn't around during the time frame of the new movie.
But the Resistance and New Order are subfactions. The Resistance and Rebel Alliance is part of the Rebel's faction. The Empire and First Order is part of the Empire faction.
There isn't a new time line, there is merely new ships from the new movie. They are no more part of a new time line then the E-Wing was.

I entirely agree with you. 100%. I have a friend with brutal dyslexia, so I can entirely relate.
But. And it's a big but, I cannot lie...
S/he does this in every thread. Every time. Asks a question, and ignores all the answers. And re-asks the same question, then re-ignores the answers. Rinse. Repeat.
