Is the new core set worth it or should I wait and get Wave 7 now?

Wave VII, get now, New Core set... wait until next month as its not out till the 19th anyway so whats another couple of weeks wait

Depends. Do you want the new damage deck, the Rules Reference Guide, two diet TIE interceptors and the new X-wing, or do you want the superbombers, the Bossk Bus and the Unpronouncable one?

What's your budget? A new Core Set is $40, and one of each Wave 7 ship is $85.

I do want the super Bomber that is Deathrain, but when does the new damage deck become the standard for tournament play? I also do want the new X-Wing but I want Wedge in the new X-Wing.

I guess my two big concerns are the damage deck and is there a fix to the X-Wing in the box?

No one knows when or in what way the new damage deck will be phased in to tournament play. Technically we don't even know if it will, although it seems very likely.

The only things in the box that can be used with the original X-wing are the astromechs. I think BB-8 is very good, but I ha no idea if he'll be enough to make the named X-wing pilots competitive.

I just started a thread like this yesterday. I decided on the new Core Set. I went to the game store last night and bought a single Kihraxz fighter that pushed my loyalty card up to basically mean it was free. Now I have to use my loyalty card at my LGS to buy the Core set.

There is no fix to the old X-Wing, just a new one that seems usable. Later this week (hopefully) there should be an article about the new core and competetive X-Wing.

Looking at other threads here..... damage deck = all players must have it to use it, other wise use the old one

X-wing fix ... nope not included

heychadwick I missed that thread yesterday. I need to make it up to PBKW one day to play ya'll just hard when I do not have thursday nights free.

It's awesome that BB-8 is a new astromech in the game. His ability should have been placed on a non-unique astro though. It's a great way to help the original X-wing.
