EPT Wired how good?

By Dagonet, in X-Wing

I think the biggest winners here are ships with very useful red manuvers. IG-88 and TIE Defenders.

PTL greens too enjoy this, but I prefer to fly those with Wingman.

and the FO Tie!!! and i guess that new rebel xwing

I'd still make the argument that wired is pretty solid for defenders. Wired + mk II makes a pretty solid 37 point vessery that can run with Vader and actually just be reasonable value I think.

personally, I'd prefer crackshot :)

fully modded HLC with -1 evade result...*drool*

sure, it's only once, but that'll pop a hole in soontir's SD worse than a ballon getting shot by a high caliber rifle

Wired feels like a discounted Lone Wolf.

Wired is just as strong offensively if you have no focus tokens with Lone Wolf. It's a little worse defensively.

Depends on the scenario.

If you aren't stressed, or you are stressed but have a focus token, then Wired does nothing for you. You'll want to spend the token to turn those eyeballs into results.

If you're stressed and have spent your focus tokens, then Wired is arguably better than Lone Wolf in both offense and defense due to the fact that it affects multiple dice. This is especially true if you're on defense and have Autothrusters. We've all had those games where you've rolled five dice at range 3 and gotten five eyeballs. Wired lets you reroll all of those results.

That's definitely a tempting idea too. Wired and mk II is just the first build I've ever even considered for an ace defender without hlc. Being able to roll around with stress and get good action economy seems like it could open up better knife fighting possibilities than the defender has had before.

I thought Wired lets you reroll 1 <eye> when stressed, not all of them. Am I wrong?

Yup, it's one or more

Cool, someone should tell the "Yet another squad builder" the wording is wrong on Wired :)

I can't really see wired being a thing for FOs

they seem made for PTL (especially Mr focus + TL, because how the **** ever is that not the clunkiest ability in the game unless you can tl + focus during the same turn!?)

maybe because they're A-wing clones and come with super-ultra-mega-hyper-wingman

Dr. All crit all the time could take ptl oooor he could ride with Jendon and fleet officer! Which seems better, a 3 point ept or an expensive slow moving ship that isn't worth the points? I think we both know the real answer ;)

I mean you answered it yourself OBVIOUSLY JENDON! at a mere 26 points more expensive it gives you a totally new ship that wont be able to keep up!

man, it's really too bad Drea Renthal doesn't have an EPT slot. . .

mostly the t-70s

thrusters + re-roll focus = good idea

also boost to align r3-a2 arc on fools

I'll let him know!

Tycho combos well with this card, Not only is he never unstressed, but on top of it equip him with autothrusters and you can re-roll your focus to try to get an evade or blank.

Also helps mitigate one of his weaknesses, which is his vulnerability to being blocked.

What about something like this?

Commander Kenkirk (51)

VT-49 Decimator (44), Wired (1), Darth Vader (3), Fleet Officer (3)

Tempest Squadron Pilot (24) x 2

TIE Advanced (21), TIE/x1 (0), Proton Rockets (3), Accuracy Corrector (3)

Omega Ace and Wingman both work against Wired. Both of their stress removal effects are mandatory.

I just get a little sad every time I see something that could have made ordnance better
