What I have found out about the new core set

By FatherTurin, in X-Wing

Ok guys, there seems to be a lot of assumptions about the new core set. In my travels to various stores today, here is what I have discovered:

Target DOES have the core set, but at the 3 stores I visited near me, I couldn't convince anyone to fork it over early (a tactic that usually works with new nerf blasters). Apparently the boxes have a street date of 9/4 plastered all over them.

Other retailers MAY have them. Toys'r'Us for example, wouldn't confirm that they have it, only that new Star Wars stuff will be available at midnight.

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER THAT THIS SET IS EXCLUSIVE TO TARGET. LGS' may be able to order them after the official reveal, but ultimately the only thing we know is that target will/does have them. Everything else is rumor. Take a breath and find out tomorrow.

Not out on Australia today.

Even if you could convince an employee, their computer system will catch it and prevent the sale. Sad when it happened with an Amiibo.

What about the other mystery SKUs?

Not out on Australia today.

You went into a shop or looked online?

I dunno, i collect lego minifigs that come in mystery bags

UK 'tescos' put them out early once and i went to buy them, the machine didnt like it but i persuaded the staff to scan em through though.

Probably depends on who you talk to and how well they know their job/care.

I can say that Barnes and Noble does have a UPC for a strategy game list at MSRP 39.99 coming out tomorrow. There is no title but it does have a code of XWX36. Make of that what you will. Its looking less like a Target exclusive. Now if FFG would just announce something so that fans can start lining up someplace that will have the game. It is going to be an exciting night. No sense in anymore cloak and dagger since it is a mere 4 hours from now, plus StarWars.com has no problem rolling out their gear now (BB-8 Sphero included *as is the pun*)

Happy Force Friday!

I checked a Target in Oz this morning - nothing. That being said, I am not aware of any Australian Target stores ever carrying X-wing, so not overly surprising.

^ Just noticed that the Walmart store in Melbourne has X wing, and most of the older waves are discounted.

Not the new core set though.

EDIT# Scratch that, it's the US webstore front. US dollar prices and no delivery to Australia.

Most of these are third party sellers too!
