Multiple Cybernetics

By ArtanisNeravar, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I've been working on a Gank character so I have been looking at cybernetics recently and have a few questions. Can multiple cybernetics be combined?

Example: could a repulsor fist be added to an Agility arm?

Second, can the cybernetic weapon be used if the person already has an agility or brawn arm? The agility/brawn arms description states something like:

Characters can have multiple cybernetic arms, but they must be the same model.

Is this simply for that specific type, or does it cover all cybernetic arms?

I think what they were trying to do is avoid having a player get the +Agility AND the +Brawn arms.

Personally, I don't see a reason why you couldn't add a repulsor fist or a cybernetic weapon to an agility arm. Just count that as 2 implants and you're good. Of course, your GM may vary!

Pretty much exactly how I would run it. As long as it counts towards your total number of enhancements and is paid for separately I see no reason why it couldn't be tacked onto an existing cyberarm.

I think with the Cybernetic Arms (Agility/Brawn), those are such major modifications that they are replacing the entire arm. The other mods just add features to the arm, so I think it would make sense to allow someone to have a Cybernetic Arm (+1 Agility) that also had a Cybernetic Weapon, a Digital Lockpick, and Repulsor Fist. It just wouldn't be able to have the Cybernetic Arm (+1 Brawn), since that's an entirely different model of arm.

If one of my players tried that my Munchkin siren would be blaring very loudly. I have no problem with letting them build other cybernetic enhancements into an existing cybernetic arm, but they would definitely have to pay the enhancement point cost for it.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying they should be able to just buy that arm with all of those enhancements. The whole thing would cost a whopping $21,500 and use up 4 Cybernetic slots.

Arm and hand are two different body parts that happen to be connected :D

That's how I'd treat it at least.

Now, having two different arm cybernetics in the same arm? Not so much.

"Extra Limbs" sounds like a great 25xp talent for a "Mechanic: Droid Specialist" to have for their "Signature Droid", making the second maneuver free... just saying.
