Definition of dropping a bomb

By IG88E, in X-Wing

Hi there

Is dropping a bomb a defined action and therefore you are not allowed to perform the action twice?

Or is it possible to simultanenously drop for example a Conner Net and Cluster Mines in the same turn (e. g. with Experimental Interface)?

The cards only say: "Action: ..... "

from the FAQ, last sentence!

Dropping a Bomb is the act of using an upgrade in the Bomb slot to put a template on the table.

That includes deploying them in any combination, and was instituted to prevent Emon Azzameen from dropping a Proton Bomb and a Proximity Mine in the same round.

After 3 BK double Whoppers and fries.....

The FAQ clarifies that you can only drop one bomb upgrade a round.

It also says that bombs and mines are both considered "bomb" upgrades.

Thank you, yes the last sentence in the FAQs did it here

I really want a way around this ruling to present itself in the next year. Be it a pilot, Crew, System, modification, or something. It could make for an extremely fun type of build.

I was never really clear on this ... do Connor nets and cluster mines also immediately detonate if dropped under a ship? I assume they do as they are worded exactly the same as prox mines? But if that's the case, why didn't they include that wording as per the FAQ?

I guess if the victim has already performed its maneuver then I would guess yes it detonates in the next round (I am sure it is specified somewhere in the FAQs)

They do, and they aren't listed in the FAQ yet because they weren't released at the time of publishing of that FAQ.... We're waiting for a Wave 7 FAQ still, but it will probably release after tomorrow's product release.

Me too. It seems to me that this is what bombardier should have done. Sort of a gunner for bombs.

ooooh... I just realized I've played bombs incorrectly in the past. Now I feel bad for the games I won where I dropped two mines in a turn.

Jacob

it's that thing that you look calm and ready to do on the surface,

but you keep on forgetting what you wrote down :(

Bombs are generally divided into two categories and behave according to that:

Bombs : Seismic Charges, Proton Bombs, Ion Bombs

They are dropped prior to revealing your manouver dial. You can still take an action after moving. They detonate at the end of the activation phase.

Mines: Proximiy Mines, Cluster Mines, Conner Net

They are dropped after your manouver as an action and detonate as soon as their mine token overlaps a ship(or viceversa) or is overlaped by a maneuver template.
