Is this a target only item if so how do people get them witj out the store. our is x wing going tp only be sold at target now

X-Wing is not going to be Target only even if somehow this core set ends up being exclusive to them for a while.

It's probably not a Target exclusive. One person heard that their game store can't buy it, but that's the only indication we have that other game stores might not be able to purchase it. And even then, we're only talking about the core set. Target will probably never carry expansions for this game, so I think we can rest assured that we'll be able to get our ships from our game stores for the foreseeable future.

Since there is no big red sticker declaring it a Target exclusive, it isn't.

Watch everyone's gonna get this core set and find out that the bases and maneuver templates are just a little bit smaller than everything else..... meaning that it's not compatible with the rest of the game! OMG that would be awful but morbidly hillarious at the same time. and awful.

True. They just said they were told that the store couldn't get it -- with no mention of a time frame.

And seeing as how I was told by an FLGS employee that I would have to special order wave VII and then showed up to find Wave VII ships all over the wall, I know that game store employees don't always have all the information. We should definitely take that one comment with a grain of salt.

Hi everyone. I am the manager for a FLGS here in southern california, and recently started playing x wing (and carrying x wing). I can tell you as of yesterday there has been no news from our distributors regarding EP7 core sets. We did get a shipment of the old core sets just this past week though. I am going again today to visit our distributors, hopefully I will find out more.

Strike 2... It is not pay to play any more then it ever was. And no we don't need the new rules to play, they are functionally the same as the old rules.

The only thing you may need, and even that is a big question at this time, is the new damage deck. But even if it becomes required it will only be so for official events.

For the benefit of anyone who doesn't know this stuff and who is actually reading this thread...

The most logical scenario here is that LGSs are unable to keep secrets. Since Disney required that this stuff be kept secret until tomorrow he distributors (or possibly the next level up) are not allowed to tell the local stores about this or let them order it until tomorrow. The big box stores have more clout, customers and legal departments to protect them against reprisals due to leaks and so have them but the info leaked.

The upshot is that the LGSs will almost certainly be able to start ordering the new stuff tomorrow.. They will probably have the stuff on shelves next week.
