Nah, most of my likes are gained by being snarky or facetious so they're not worth half the likes of a VS, Dracon or Vanor.

Sure, it's nice to see I got a laugh but otherwise? Unless it's by a user whose opinion I respect and it's in a more serious subforum such as Rules or when I'm giving someone some off-beat listbuilding tips and she likes it. Those do mean something.

Its a bit of an esteem booster for me.

I don't think it's printed anywhere. If you go to your profile page you'll see the total number of likes you have and then you can just take a ratio of the that number to the total number of posts you've made. Mine would be about 755:2,500.

Click on an avatar and it will tell you how many posts someone has and how many likes, the ratio you have to do yourself

There should be an unlike button too.

Woke up this afternoon to my notification center saying I have 54 new notifications, most of them probably likes.

1014 likes/2076 (now 2077) posts. 48.8% I like the "likes" but I don't aim to get them. I just respond to what I feel like responding to.

The only popular post I received was when I responded to a player asking if it was slow playing to fly around a B-wing heavy squad. I told him that it is not and that flying like that is to your benefit, not your opponents (or something along those lines).

I am a little proud of the fact that I have received no warning points, yet. (don't you guys get any ideas now )

What surprised me the most is that I'm already near the top on page 2 of overall most posters and I've only been on this forum for a year now.

Question: do you think there is a correlation between the amount of likes and the threads you post in?

I mean: (x-wing has) bigger comunity = more people read your post = more chance of getting likes

I think back when we had painting , im a half decent painter and nearly everything i posted got multiple 'likes'

In general convo i dont really care about 'mathwing', specualting on whats coming out in five years or arguing over the wording of a card so i usually get less likes as i dont start topics and if i chip in its usually to make a point in disagreement so only some people agree let alone 'like' it.

In here i think we just chew the fat so i rarely 'like' stuff in here as it feels a bit like the 'chill out corner' of the forums and i've rarely seen anyone act like a knob in here.

Bascially if you're an ass you don't have the respect for the forum to post off topic and stupid stuff here in the right place anyway, you just bang it on the main page for attention.

Pet hate on here is *totally* off topic stuff being on the main page, and rules arguing on the main page... sub forums guys.

I can *** TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SILVER AND *** WHITE!!! You made a false accusation that my posts about Force ghosts and explanations why its not wise for any force ghosts to attack Sidious or Vader make no since and that your "SCARED TO ASK IF ANYONE IN THE SW UNIVERSE HAS ATTACKED OR ABSORBED FORCE GHOSTS." You without question back up posters that are trolls and like to sling around personal attacks like their life depends on it. (2) I don't remember a conversation with you about storm troopers. I'm sure it happened, but I can't explain or defend my conduct when I don't know what either of us said.

(3) I do remember a conversation with you about Emperor Palpatine eating Force ghosts. Like a lot of your lore-oriented posts, it struck me as a bit of silly and weird--but fairly harmless--speculation. I was certainly amused, and I probably said something I thought was ironic that didn't translate well into a forum post. I'm sorry that hurt your feelings, and in the future I'll double-check before I post in response to you to make sure I'm not saying anything personal.

(4) I don't know what "posters that are trolls" you think I've been actively supporting. I suspect your definition of "troll" might differ substantially from mine.

You really just have to catch the attention of a few of like minded people. Half of my likes tend to come from 3-5 people. Sure, getting a few popular likes helps, but I think the majority of a person's likes will be from a few people.
