Who actually cares about their post to like ratio?

If it's just a game, then why are we keeping score?

I've found my niche is to stick with funny and nonoffensive jokes with Star Wars references. This is in contrast to real life in which my jokes are nonfunny and offensive with Star Wars references.

So my league team name is Magnitudinous Firepower Repulsors. It has a lot of shield regen...

(1) I don't know what a "VdM lackey core" is.

I think that's a reference to me. See I'm a troll who's main purpose here is to track down posts by him and call him names, make personal attacks, and challenge him on lore related posts.

Apparently people like you, YWingAce, and Sithborg are my lacky's who aid me in my persecution of BKL.

I'll admit that for a time I took perhaps more joy out of poking him then I should of, and since have put him on ignore, and now simply report posts that others quote when appropriate. But yeah for a time I was perhaps a bit more aggressive then needed in pointing out the logical and factual flaws in his opinions about what is or isn't canon.

Apparently the 'is EU canon' debate has devolved to the point that anyone who disagrees with him is guilty of person attacks and lying to make him look bad. He's accused YWingAce of that a number of times when he pointed out that the links BKL posted don't actually say what he claimed they said.

I tend to like it, as I try to be even and reasoned for the most part (when not actively joking of course).

Funny...

I just looked and my like count is 5775... It's a palindrome, and palindromes are fun.

Sadly, with my post count, a positive P:L ratio is pretty hard to pull off. But I'm well over 50% so I'm happy. Plus when I got on the msg board today I had 26 likes over the weekend. :)

But the whole point of this post, is point out that on the rules board, I know myself and I suspect others use likes as a way to say 'dito' to an answer without making a post.

If I see someone answer a question and get it correct I'll often like the post as a way of saying 'I agree that what they said is correct'.

Exactly. Hence my like, I figured that was general forum etiquette. Fettiquette.

Fettiquette

I'm stealing that.

Yeah, I'm quite proud of that one.

Oh forum-ettiquette. I tought You meant this guy:

I have more than 2,000 likes with fewer than 4,000 posts. But that doesn't mean half of my posts are good as posts can get more than 1 like? So is having a 50%> ratio a good thing or does it have to be likes>posts in order to be considered a good poster?

To be honest that's like arguing over who has the highest gamerscore on the XBL profile. It doesn't really matter and to focus on it as a score might do more harm than good. Now I will say I find it funny that the personalized title is available to those who have over 2,000 posts instead of say someone who has over 200 likes but then again that could result in "like baiting" such as the posts you used to see on Red Vs Blue and now on Facebook.

So while I may consider myself to have a good like to post ratio to be honest I really don't care. It is not a place to get likes or watch your post count go up. Also there are other threads on this forum instead of just X-wing (although that is the most active one) so the post count doesn't necessarily mean someone is a spammer if they are on multiple forums. For me the forum is a place to exchange ideas, share thoughts, and if there is a disagreement that you simply can't handle in a civil manner, then feel free to use the ignore button and block list as much as you like. But don't post it up as a victory trophy trying to antagonize others.

No, it's not as if people look go to your profile to actually look at that.

Personalized titles aren't available to anyone, anymore. Those of us that set them are now stuck with them forever.

But don't post it up as a victory trophy trying to antagonize others.

Who's doing that?

I'm not sure whether our goal is to persecute him, or if his goal is to persecute us. To be fair, I did find one of his articles, which actually said what he said, although he was twisting its meaning greatly.

I like likes but I like Friend requests even better! :)

The real important ratio is how may likes you have liked to the likes you have received.

For anyone who cares--by which I mean basically nobody but me--stackeffect just gave me my 9,904th "like". Since I have 4,952 posts, at least until I hit "post" on this, I have finally and officially reached an average of 2 likes per post.
