Holding tongs - a discussion about using two wedge tools.

Hello,

What have you found to be the best deployments and plans for a list that has at least 2 VSDs (or the incoming ISDs)?

Is it effective?

How do you move (not list build) to ensure you get the maximum potential from your VSDs? (Will ISDs make it much easier with their 3 speed?)

Is it worth buying two ISDs in the near future?

I've considered some sort of spaced forward facing formation going in as a pincer. Is there any other good choice?

Let's avoid posting lists only. Talk to me about the magic of movement and true table life.

I am getting 3. Not all at once and I am hoping 1 of them is through the Massing of Sullust event.

VVG-R has been my Weapon of Choice at the moment... Really, it comes down to the mission. That, and I am notoriously upgrade-light.

Contested Outpost is always where I aim to play if I can as Second Player... Two Star Destroyers moving slowly, flanking the outpost, making you come to me... If you need "help" in coming to me, then the Gladiator is doing a flank-to-Rear run to drive past your backsides with black dice. Rhymer and his goons are usually on the opposite flank, hiding out, waiting for squadrons to be committed to the small escort I have.

Drive the enemy towards the teeth of two Star Destroyers, a little more than a Destroyer-and-a-half abreast from each other...

With the Destroyers drifting at Speed 1... Sometimes even slowing down to Speed 0 at the start of the first turn to make you come forward, but usually a Speed 1 Drift followed by a Speed 2 pounce around turn 3.

That lets me pick an enemy ship to the front, and throw 2 front arcs at it... If you're off to a side, then I've done a lazy turn...

The only thing that really throws me is a really spaced out Rebel list -- but it doesn't bother me that much, because if they do that, they're not concentrating fire on me in return...

I think my Plan for 400 is going to be similar.. Only I'm substituting the GSD for an ISD... It is going to start angled-in on a Flank and Drive forward, pushing you towards the waiting Victories.

I really like that idea, using an ISD as a GSD. The only fear of course is that they get behind the ISD. But hey, speed 3 pretty good.
