Bossking Latts around

By whiskeytango, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've got 2 YV's, so screwing around with a couple ideas for them.

Bossk

Mangler Cannon

Predator

Gunner

Tactician

Outlaw Tech

Maneuvering Fins

Glitterstim

Latts

Ion Projector

Weapons Engineer

K4

Outlaw Tech

Hot Shot Blaster

Probably will not do spectacularly, but I kind of like it.

Any thoughts on how I could improve it?

Another thought was

Xizor

Virago

Autothrusters

Sensor Jammer

Predator

X2 Slavers

I feel that x2 YV's will crumble so fast. I enjoy your second thought a lot better than Bossk and Razzi. It fits nicely with Xizor's ability, having 24 health to soak up some damage is nice. Still, 1 agility ships are hard to keep alive long with no defensive upgrades. I've noticed that the cheaper I run my YV, the better the outcome.

If you are going to run a pair of named YV-666s, I think Moralo with an HLC and Latts is the way to go. Maybe run Latts out front a bit with a Tactcal Jammer to protect Moralo a bit. A 180 degree HLC is the business.

Maybe something like this?

Moralo Eval (34)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Tactician (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Latts Razzi (33)
Bossk (2)
Gunner (5)
Weapons Engineer (3)
Tactical Jammer (1)
Hound's Tooth (6)
Total: 100

Interesting ideas all around. I ended up not running any 2 YV lists at all tonight. I instead played two games with

Bossk

Predator

Gunner

Tactician

Outlaw Tech

Glitterstim

Maneuvering Fins

2x Thugs

TLTs

Unhinged Astromechs

Played two games with that against Deathrain lists, new used maneuvering fins once. Very effective list, though I don't particularly enjoy flying the Y's.

Played two more games with

Bossk

Predator

Outlaw Tech

Gunner

Tactician

Glitterstim

Boba Fett

Veteran Instincts

Engine Upgrade

Gunner

Glitterstim

I liked this one a lot. Sort of a new take on Bounty Bros. Boba does what Boba does, charges straight in, Bossk stays a ways behind just blasting away. Narrow loss the first game with it against more Punishers, then a very decisive victory the second time with it. I'm real partial to 2 ship lists, so I really enjoyed it.

I would take Predator and Maneuvering Fins off from Bossk and would take something else for him with those four points. I did not find those Maneuvering Fins that useful and Predator is kind of useless with Bossk's Pilot Ability and you have Mangler Cannon that will give you almost everytime that two hits with that crit and especially when you have Gunner there, kind of overkill! And what comes to the Latts Razzi, I don't really see the point for that Hot Shot Blater and would change that for Glitterstim or something else and Ion Projector would be even better with the Trandoshan Slaver, just because you can move first and it is much easier to be that blocking ship than with Pilot Skill 5.

I'm okay with your original list. I'd take gunner off of Bossk. Don't really see you needing it with Latts boosting his offense. Glitterstim also feels like a bit of a waste on a ship with 1 AGI.

And maybe it is just me, but I really like the idea of Greedo on Latts. People will probably try to take on Bossk first, giving Greedo/Latts free reign.

For Bossk, why not the crazy Stay on Target + Navigator + Outlaw Tech combo? You pretty much can ignore your dial and just decide what maneuver you want to do when it is ready to reveal.

I would throw in a couple cheap little wingmen with Wingman.

for 3 more points you can throw on the crew member that lets you look at dials and some Anti-Pursuit lasers or Ion Projector. Deny their high pilot skill pilots from shooting at your space slug, and damage or Ionize them for insult or injury to injury.
