I noticed that the Imperials now have two AT-STs and a snow speeder coming in the Hoth expansion.
What about the rebels? Why no vehicles for them?

How many ground vehicles did the Rebels use in the original trilogy?

How many nexu's were used by mercenaries in the original trilogy?
I was thinking of just a couple, but in the thinking of OT only vehicles, the Imperial snow speeder doesn't fit that bill either.
Here are some options:
Taun Taun (not a vehicle but a mount at least)
Landspeeder
Snow Speeder
T-16 skyhopper
Skiff
Speeder Bikes
Edited by StarwoidThe cool Rebel vehicles are all in space. On the ground, it's about characters for the Rebels.
The Empire has all the toys when it comes to ground battles.

Personally, I feel the game is mainly aimed at slow moving vehicles, like tanks. Not a fan of incorporating fast moving craft like speeders. Modified land speeder or T2-B would be okay IMO, but definitely a fan of rebels using mounts more than vehicles. I am also a huge fan of "floating" skiff tiles that would be movable over the map in some missions that would allow players to move the skiff/fire if they controlled the terminal at the helm.
The box expansions are mainly aimed for campaign play, which has some maps that don't even allow vehicles/massive. Would you spend a side mission to try and get a rebel vehicle ally that wouldn't even be usable on some missions and even on the missions it'd be usable on, they'd probably have a high deployment cost so you'd be giving the Imperial player a ton of threat.
We'll most likely see one of the rebel's hover tanks in a skirmish/ally pack. Not in a box expansion.
Yea, I think it would be something more meant for skirmish play rather than for the campaign. Though they could always make speeder tokens or something that you can pop out and have your characters jump on to speed up their travel to one part of the map for the mission then hope off and go inside. Basically have a token that is the same size as an E-web gunner, place one of your figures on it and then have it so that they gain mobile and maybe the ability to attack when they generate movement points, that or just give them like 8 movements points or so.
Patrick's point is very important.
I think another thing is the rebellion doesn't really have the slow moving vehicles that tomkat talked about. Since they are ultimately a resistance and don't really want to have big stand up fights.
Considering R2-D2s service ability I expect that the Rebels will get a vehicle at some point in the future.

No! I have played far too many missions (two player) where the lousy rebels just run around to all of the objectives with out being slowed down by my troops. Just the other day I played Gharkaan's side mission against a friend and the rebels won on turn 3! If there is one thing the rebels don't need it is a fast moving vehicle. The only way I can see this is if it can only be played if you have at least 4 players.
