Rhymer, Redline and?

By Ravncat, in X-Wing Squad Lists

How do you build a list with the two?

Do you go for a single tie and lots of payload, or do you try to fit another ship in?

Rhymer + Extra Munitions (28)

Redline + FCS + Extra Munitions (31)

Option A
Maarek Steele + TieX1 +Tiemk II + Advanced Targetting computer (29 points)

Option B
Omicron Group Shuttle + Emperor Palpatine (29 points)

Option C
Omicron Group Shuttle + Darth Vader (24 points)

Options A and B leave 12 points for ordnance between rhymer and redline - What configuration to take?!

Option C leaves 17 points for ordnance between Rhymer and Redline! What to take?!

How would you build them?

Rhymer REALLY wants advanced homies

^ And/or Adv. Torps.

Why not go for Trollzet with FCS?

With Redline some of that damage should stick for when Colzet can do his stuff.

Not B or C. You need something that can provide non-ordinance based damage. Relying on 2 red dice to finish the fight is well........

So i'd go Maarek with AHM on rhymer and clusters + conner on redline. That puts you at 99 pts, so 1 point left to spend. Maybe VI on maarek, or failsafe on rhymer. Or maybe even crackshot. I say conner net because you'll need some way to deal with something like soontir.

Jonus could be a good choice with those two as could a Shuttle with Advanced Sensors and a Fleet Officer. Either of those would leave more points for goodies on R&R than choice A and B do.

I made a build with Rhymer, Redline, and an ATC Tempest I think could do alright.

Rhymer: APT, AHM, EM PtL (40)

Redline: Plasma, Cluster missiles, EM, FCS (38)

Tempest: ATC (22)

Rhymer will probably not be able to all of his munitions off, but he should be able to fire at least one advanced homing missile and one advanced proton torpedo. If I had one more point I would switch out the AHM for a concussion, but I can't think of anything to drop.

Switch the ATC on the Tempest out for an Accuracy Corrector if you are looking for a point. I think the Accuracy Corrector will give you better results on a low PS ship with a single action than an ATC will in most matches.

But you only need to target lock once per enemy ship, and then you're getting more damage output with the free crit. Regardless, I think that the 3rd ship is going to be the lowest priority target, so it should be something that can reliably do some damage. Even finding room for a cheap Sigma would be good as it will do a lot of damage before it goes down.
