Hello, I couldn't be around as much as I would have wanted to but I still kept an eye on spoilers. And as most here I too am excited about the new deluxe, finally and Elven one.
With that I would like to ask those who like to look into the future a bit. What do you think, is Círdan going to be a good match for Erestor? I would think so, because you get 5 cards each round, out of which one might be easy to discard, as you will probably find one you wouldn't be able to play that round. The situation gets better when the cards benefit from being in the discard pile, most of which are yet to arrive.
But maybe others think otherwise about the couple?
Considering they do match their strength well, who would you pick as the third hero?
I have three suggestions:
1) Glorfindel. The most thematic one. Mechanically, he doesn't benefit the deck but he does benefit it greatly with the stats, as he always does. I am talking about the Spirit version, naturally. The sphere feels a double-edged thing here: 2 Spirit heroes allow for round 1 Arwen, or Light of Valinor and Silvan Refugee, for instance.
2) Legolas. Less thematic but still good. Allows for Tactics: huge array of weapons, and especially Elven Spear feels great here. And the weapons don't mind Silvan.
3) Boromir. Tactics, and less thematic still. Best mechanically perhaps, Protector of Lórien which is a card to mulligan for with Erestor works perhaps best on Boromir. Still allows for Elven weapons but they no longer work that well with only Círdan and Erestor.
