Post-Wave 7 FAQ - What are you looking for?

By ViscerothSWG, in X-Wing

Since they're delaying the release of the FAQ for whatever reason, we have time to remind them what to add to it. So, what is the first thing you're hunting for when they release the new FAQ?

I'll be seeking clarification on ion tokens in the activation phase.

Are they waiting until the Force Friday release before releasing it?

And where is the Wave 7 Is Available article? Suppressed due to impending releases? Not likely, but what's a better explanation?

a comprehensive step by step explanation of what happens when you drop a Connor net on a ship before it has moved.

a comprehensive step by step explanation of what happens when you drop a Connor net on a ship after it has moved.

Does Advanced Sensors completely negate the skip your action effect of Connor net?

if a ship is already ioned and you drop a Connor net on it will the new Ion wash away this turn without effect?

Does the previously unratified Leebo ruling dictate how Ion works on a ship i.e. does it still perform its maneuver if it has a dial set and retain the ions until next turn.

When the hell crack shot gets used?

Is Sable's PalpaCunn the first set of restricted cards?

When the hell crack shot gets used?

That's pretty straight forward. Is there even any question about that? It happens during the Compare Results step, exactly like the rules say it should.

X-Wing Rules Page 12:

Canceling Dice

Each time a die result is canceled, a player takes one die displaying the canceled result and physically removes the die from the common area. Players ignore all canceled results during this attack. All abilities that allow players to cancel dice must be resolved at the start of the “Compare Results” step

clarification on the Bossk crew card

it has the exact same wording as R7-T1 as well as AC and both are handled in a totally different way

R7-T1: Action: Choose an enemy ship at Range 1-2. If you are inside that ship's firing arc, you may acquire a target lock on that ship. Then, you may perform a free boost action.

You may boost, even if you did not take a target lock

AC: When attacking, during the “Modify Attack Dice” step, you may cancel all of your dice results. Then, you may add 2 Hit results to your roll. Your dice cannot be modified again during this attack.

You may not add 2 hit results, if you haven´t canceled your dice results first

Although the "Then" part is always a new sentence!

+1 for Activation Phase Ions/Connor Net

and of course the Evergreen of "do something to bring boost on 2x2 ships in line with barrel roll on 2x2 ships"

Nerfing of Roark Garnett, Captain Jonus and Swarm Tactics on huge ships

Nerfing boost on big ships

Tournament rules: when points are scored vs. when the game ends when a YV666 with the Hound's Tooth card is destroyed.

the wave 8 faq

Tournament rules: when points are scored vs. when the game ends when a YV666 with the Hound's Tooth card is destroyed.

That one has already been answered in the current Tourney rules.

Tournament rules: when points are scored vs. when the game ends when a YV666 with the Hound's Tooth card is destroyed.

I'm not sure this is a rules issue, either. You score the entire value of the Hound's Tooth when is destroyed, just as you do with every ship. The game ends when time is called or when all of one player's ships have been destroyed, just as you do in any game.

It's conceptually new to have a ship that's worth 0 points, but it's not a problem in the scoring framework.

Definitive ruling on TLT and stress droid. Pretty sure you can only single stress with TLT and bot by themselves, but ruling would be nice.

Clarification on whether SLAM is meant to count the "choosing and executing" as "revealing" a maneuver for the purposes of bomb wordings. And whether it includes the "Check Pilot Stress" step, though that only comes into play with crits, as the K-Wing has no reds.

Conner Net clarification, as everyone else has said.

And a simple yes/no to whether Bossk crew works when already stressed. I'd argue yes, but it'd be nice to have some official backing. Same with SLAM, official clarification is always nice.

I want them to clarify if the TIE Advil can take the Advanced X1 title.

No, he should not be mixing those drugs.

Interaction between Damaged Engine critical and performing a 2-turn as part of your SLAM action maneuver. Does it produce a stress?

Is Sable's PalpaCunn the first set of restricted cards?

Elaborate please...

Basically everything about the SLAM action...

I want to be able to bomb before a SLAM. Otherwise its a very 'meh' new action in the game.

Ocuinn with Ion Projector and Emperor. You block someone and it triggers Ion Projector. The Emperor manipulates the die roll and changes it to a hit. Then the following turn Ocuinn just does a 1 forward and bumps, causing damage. Then the poor ship does a 1 forward and hits Ion Projector again and the whole things starts over. Basically the ship is trapped and cannot escape.

I don't see it being restricted though. It does not work against a large base ship. Also, you can to be setup nearly head-on with your target for it to work properly. If your opponent gets caught in the trap I see it really as their fault. It will not be a fun thing to face if you get caught in it. You basically have to write that ship off as dead unless you can somehow kill Ocuinn.
