Rebels: 9 victories

Empire: 4 victories

So my wife and I finished our first campaign together and it was a very fun experience. I have gaming ADD so the fact that we finished it and that I want to play more says a lot about this game.

She played Diala and Jyn, and I played Military Might. I went easy on her for the first two or three missions, but she picked it up very quickly and I had to bring my "A Game" for the rest of the campaign until the end. Indeed she is powerful as the Emperor has forseen. There were several close missions but in the end the Imperials won.

Notable moments:

I won Darth Vader, she won Rebel Sabs and Chewbacca. She denied me from earning IG-88, and I denied her from getting Luke. My favorite moment of the series was when Vader crushed Luke with one fell swoop. The most frustrating for me was not winning IG-88, and when she killed General Weiss before he could even get in his AT-ST.

The last mission (Last Stand) was a little disappointing. It started out exciting, because for the first time she brought in Chewie and took the risk of giving me 15 threat. I bought Elite Trandoshans and had 5 threat left over. She's not very experienced using allies and made the big mistake of meandering Chewie into the line of sight of the Elite E-Web. I had my "A Game" in full gear and unloaded on him, and then did a third volley with Sustained Fire. Chewie was dead and the game was pretty much over. I felt bad for her, downshifted to "B Game" mode, and kinda-sorta let her make it to Vader. She surprised me (once again) with how much damage output she was capable of (she quickly got about 8 damage on Vader) so I had to end it before it got out of hand.

Lastly, I am very blessed to have a wife that not only loves me and takes of me and the five other children of the house, but she also engages in nerdy behavior with me, from time to time.

Okay, for anyone that read this yesterday, my wife got wind of the fact that I played my "B Game" and wanted a rematch, and insisted I play my A Game.

She started out by NOT bringing in Chewie (only to let him walk in front of an angry E Web), and instead had Jyn take out the E Web with a trick shot before it had a chance to do anything. The momentum was completely on her side with her wiping out my troops as fast as I put them in, and still moving forward. Then finally I took a big risk and spent 10 of my 11 threat to bring in Elite Trandos and beefed them up with some Military Might upgrades. The heroes got split up, and I managed to wound Diala about the time Jyn opened the second door.

Then they were close to opening up the door to Vader, which would have locked the Trandos out. I managed to get the Trandos in the room, and took another big risk by spending more threat on Elite Stormtroopers. I had little to no threat to back up Vader, and I knew it, and I was very worried about that. It was the right move though, and at that point the momentum shifted to me and the swarm did its job They still managed to confront Vader, but the Trandos made it to melee range of Jyn and really tore her up.

In the end, it was a regular Stormtrooper who made the lucky shot to win the game.

We were both VERY glad we did the rematch, the game was absolutely awesome and we both played our best.

The moral of the story is that your wife totally rocks and you should make her breakfast in bed tomorrow just for being awesome!
