A Moment of Silence for the Casualties of Wave 7

Do or do not, there is no theory crafting.

And the tournament meta has picked "do not."

Personally, I don't like blaster turret on Palob because most games those focus tokens directly translate into negated damage. It's rare to have him die with (m)any tokens left. And I think that having the TLT have a different range band from his ability is a *good* thing. It prevents someone sitting at R3 getting unanswered shots (and gives me an extra green die to spend those focus tokens on).

That's the thing that always bugged me about Mux and Palob (and to a lesser extent Kavil). If an opponent can keep them at range 3, they are completely ineffective.

Off topic, but the generic Defenders have not even had a trivial impact, let alone a meaningful one, in the competitive meta.

This was predicted immediately following the initial spoiler article, given more technical details here, and then their lack of competitive performance was documented here, here, here, here, here, and here.

I seem to recall (although I could be mistaken) that when discussing the poor performance of the TIE Advanced you stated that it was 2-3 points overcosted, the 2 dice attack was a major handicap, and a good way to approach a fix might include a systems slot - pretty much a bullseye when it came to the fix.

What would your suggestion be for a buff to the defender ?

my ally is the skill, and a powerful ally it is, practice creates it makes it grow its energy surrounds us and binds us.

Luminous beings are we not these crude numbers, you must feel the skill around you. Here between you, me the off topic forum, yes even between the playmat and the dice.

Do or do not, there is no theory crafting.

Judging by the results, seems most people chose to do not... not even Yoda.

I have House Rules here, but they are outdated. The boring fix is to reduce the cost of the generics by 3 points, give the PS3 an EPT, and shave a point off of Rexler for good measure. Even with a 3 point cost reduction the PS1 is still needing to abuse the white K to earn its points back, so I honestly wouldn't expect it to see much high level competitive use even at 27 points.

Now that we have the MK2 TIE Engine and a tractor beam (not fully spoiled), I have some much more interesting ideas. I'll bump the thread when I publish the v2.0 Defender fix.

Speaking of, Blaster Turret has been in the queue to get House Ruled since wave 3 came out, but now that we have TLT, this is a good time to revisit it and actually figure out a proper fix with all the spare time that I don't have. :D
